Next is the fitting of the SSD drive so I can load Windows 7 from it, add my documents and Outlook or Microsoft Office and the web browser whilst keeping all my programmes, photos, music on my existing HDD drive, although maybe slowly moving over stuff I use more often onto the SSD ?0

If you are running a clean install on the SSD, I've sent you a link to the recovery disc for your machine.0 -
Hi, I have Acronis true image which I have just been through and made sure everything was updated, such as outlook, and all the programs, this is on an external 2tb drive and around 70% full.
I was hoping to leave the existing internal HDD drive in the machine, and somehow, don't know the how yet, but to boot up from the new SSD and transfer My Documents and some programs I use regularly to the SSD so the existing HDD is purely for saving stuff too ? I am really worried about a formatting the existing HDD in case I can't reload the few programs I have bought and used over many years but either haven't got the discs or links to the original downloads as well as the email and user name when I bought them, this is only a few marine charting programs, Rosetta Stone, a few Greek programs etc, I have the original Windows 7 discs, Office 2010, is this doable ? Or doesn't it work like that0 -

Should be no issues with a clean install to the SSD, though I don't know about the charting programs. Just make a list of the programs and we'll see if we can find them elsewhere, just in case.0 -
Hi Chaps ; )
I installed my new SSD and left in the old HDD, I connected the new SSD to Sata 0 where the old HDD was, moved the HDD into 1 and the DVDR/W into 3, first uplugged the old HDD and fired up going to the DVD and loading windows 7, everything went through fine and it is up and running, I assigned the priority to the new SSD on the hard drive, but still see the HDD as on the Hard drive priority list but as number 2, is this still ok.
I have loaded Windows 7 and was surprised it didn't ask for my Serial number ? I downloaded Opera and everything connected to the internet, no reinstalling for internet, just Opera.
The next problems I have is do I have to reinstall Office 2010 from the disc onto the SSD, also the pst files are still on the old HDD, there is also everything else on my old HDD such as Acronis, Office, and a few other programs I would like to migrate to the SSD, also how can I link into the libraries etc without having to go to my Computer, open the HDD drive, I believe there is something to link libraries. Thanks for your patience.0 -

I already explained why you would not be asked for a Product Key. A recovery disc will read the DELL signature on the Motherboard chip and auto-activate.0
