It should be sorted today AFK - is it? Mine looks fine.
    Baby Step 1 - £1k Emergency Fund - COMPLETE
Baby Step 2 - Pay off all debts except the Mortgage - £9,326 to go
Baby Step 3 - Save 6 months of expenses into full Emergency Fund - £4,300 to go

Baby Step 4 - Put 15% into Pension
Baby Step 6 - Pay off the Mortgage early
    Baby Step 7 - Live like no-one else :D
  • Yes, it's fine now, shame really as I finally worked out the figures were in my favour by around £400.00 :D
Ha, and I just spotted your last comment - "a fellow rounder" :D
Still onwards and downwards, still debating whether to reduce my term which has the effect of me o/p. It's a long time till next Oct and if I managed my o/p allowance in 8 months this year, save for the other 4, would only leave me with 4 out of the 10 for next year, plus the allowance will be reduced  Hope everyone is keeping up :) here, with my stats, dates, figures :rotfl:

Still have around £150 to o/p on my allowance (which I'm using to OCD down my figures to a nice tidy sum), so with the wrong figures in my statement yesterday I o/p £25.63 with the correct figures today I still need to o/p another £6.56 which I have just paid. All nice and tidy once again :j o/p Total £32.19.

Lots to do today, as working an extra shift tomorrow - signed up for 2 Sundays this month, then an age till I find out if it was all worth it (wage slip).

I'm twitched too with my H@lifax mortgage... last month I expected to be £1k less than what it was, so I thought I'd made the mistake... I'm making weekly OP with lodgers rent so look at least weekly.

my numbers yesterday without payment being taken off and only interest added left me a balance of £171k.... (I always tidy my mortgage not current account)... today minus the payment of £1120 it is still £171k !!! I just don't get it!!

I sat with a pen and paper yesterday subtracting every payment for the last 3 months.. I'll be telephoning them this week, even the figures i wrote yesterday are different
    Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 2022
  • Its shocking MFD, mine reverted back, but as you said interest added on, mortgage payment disappears out of my account, only to appear 3 days later, wished it had stayed with their figures though, I was better off by around £400.

I took screen prints as was rushing off to work, mentioned it to a colleague I was working with, and so started the conversation re being MF :) early - she was so so interested (that means - very :rotfl:) and off she went home armed with all details of this site and o/p calculators to show her DH, think we may just have another recruit ;):D

Hope you get yours sorted soon, I'll be taking notes from now on, don't trust it to show correct figures now.

I'm also with Halifax but confess to not being obsessed enough to notice the issue you describe :D

I find it amazing how few people even consider OPing as an option. I realise it is not within everyone's reach to pay off early, but the whole concept seems alien to the majority of folk. Well done on recruiting a new one!

Thanks Bexster, I have a few more recruits in sight, just need to pick the right time (ie When I'm not busy). Oh, and by the way are you inferring I am Obsessed  :p :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Wherever do you get that from :)
Your right, not many consider it, our conversation went like,
Me - I just transfer my o/p's from one account into my mortgage account Both accounts are in the same place
NMFW** - Oh, can you do that, I never thought about doing that
Me - Yes, its that simple, but then said need to check the points below before doing anything

    1. Make sure you are allowed to o/p, didn't like to ask what kind of mortgage she has.
    2. If allowed, make sure its within the limit - eg 10%
    3. When allocating the o/p make sure its to an account that has interest added, I have one sub account which has no interest added to it.

**New Mortgage Free Wanabee :D Can't wait to hear how she got on, telling her DH all about it.
