    Morning,

Up bright and early this morning, still not sleeping great, so warm !!!

Shopping done yesterday, bought an under garment at such a silly price, that I managed to get all my shopping, for the retail price of the garment. Still have a load to do's on my list, which all need to wait till tonight when I get home.
Getting ready to change my signature, and update my brand new spreadsheet (in the loose term of the word).
    Happy Tuesday.

Great day at work today, everybody happy (ish). Had a lovely home made salad with jamaican salmon skewers, and tiger bread, with strawberries for afters, for tomorrow I have a "free lunch" courtesy of Greggs, a honey ham and egg salad worth £3, picked up today with a magazine voucher.

Tried more surveys, balance nearly at £80.00 which will come in handy for xmas, speaking of which, was in M&S yesterday and they have their xmas cards out.

Having doubts about reducing the term of my mortgage now as its really only 5 months o/p's to go before I can start o/p again. Is it worth all the bother ? and I quite like having another "pot" although would prefer to see mortgage reduce - hence my "virtual spreadsheet" :rotfl:Need to have a think what would annoy me more.

Noticed hedge needs a trim, so another job on the list, but should only take around 10-15 mins tops.

Have a Happy Mid week day.

    Hello AFK!

I don't think I can help really re: reducing term vs savings pot as you know I have saved the money rather than actually paid off the mortgage. I shall be reconsidering my position after November when Santander reduce their interest rate by 50%

Realistically, I will probably wait until the spring at least before considering paying it off completely. With new job and possible foreign purchase planned things are a bit too dynamic at present to want to pay off.

You are doing really well, hope saga is close to resolution. It is inexplicable how incompetent people can actually be - and then no one is willing to take responsibility. What a shame we can't all find a job where you can do what you like, not be bothered what the impact, and still get paid :D

Hope work is ok again today.

Yes Jodles - 4 months - at this rate they will be selling them all year round. As for my lists, they never get finished, 1 off/2 on :rotfl:

Santander - spoilsports, although I like them and their online banking, not paying for it.
Yes Bexster, keep your ££'s that way you have control of what you decide to do and when :) gives you more options. Work was busy but fine.

Can fully recommend Superdrug's own make - everyone comments on my hair just after I have coloured it.
Get listing - even if its just a few at a time, I know its a pain, but as they say - no pain, no gain :p

  • Anyone else with the Halifax ???
Couldn't wait to log onto my mortgage account to find out what balance was. Mortgage money out of my account 1st of the month, taken off mortgage 2nd of the month, that's what should happen, unless weekends or holidays. Nothing taken off my mortgage, just the interest added yesterday. Then I looked more closely  you and everyone on here knows I round down my mortgage balance every month without fail. Looking back over my yearly statement online, the figures (not one of them) are evened off  How can this be - a blip, I just wish I had printed the statement out every month.

I now find myself not trusting the mortgage statement online, I think I need to check and re-check every bit of interest added on and every payment taken off.

Anyone have a method of working out what your daily interest should be, cause I am going through it, every single entry.

    Hello AFK!

I have found this happens with the Halifax online screen some months - it always returns to normal though.

I don't know why, but yes it seems to change all of the mortgage balances for every date on screen temporarily. A quirk in the process, but nothing to worry about.

A great tip is to download an e-version and transport it into excel for safekeeping, if you're that way inclined :)

Panic not, and carry on overpaying :)

Baby Step 4 - Put 15% into Pension
Baby Step 6 - Pay off the Mortgage early
    Baby Step 7 - Live like no-one else :D
  • MvM, thanks for that, I have just spent the last hour going through my diary trying to get a pin point so I could try and match it with my statement. Trouble is, believe it or not, but I can't work out if they have reduced or increased my mortgage figure, although it is looking like a reduction, so won't be too quick to complain until I know. ;)
