Morning all...!
Have been AWOL again, which seems to be my MO at the moment.
I hope that all are well and happy.
Sorry to hear about the IT problems & home problems re managing agents.
The managing agents for your estate/house - are they registered with a trade body? If they are - it might be worth complaining to them. As you know, be factual and straight to the point. It is also a good idea to go through their contract too, so you know what they should be doing and the time scales involved. HTH
I just opened up a TSB current account to use as a savings account - am waiting for the paperwork and cards to come through. The 5% on cash back is only up until 30/9/17 and they do do a regular savings account too - i think it is at 5%.
As mentioned earlier - FD & M&S both do a regular savers account at 6% but you can't withdraw any money out. So you need to work out it is better to save in one of those accounts for a year and then put against your mortgage as one lump sum.
Hope all are OK.
Back to work now.

Scot just check on the TSB 5% reg saver. I had 2 last year but they've just ended and i'm sure they've withdrawn the 5% offer since the base rate reduction.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

Thanks Shangai - will do. I think that most banks will be removing the good savings products. It feels like that they want us to pay off our mortages or spend it all rather than be sensible with emergency funds etc or am i being very cynical?
Am just glad that I will be using the new current account as a savings account for the time being until something better comes along.
Think I am becoming a current account addict...LOL0 -
I'm trying funding circle at the minute. My rationale is needing to find new ways to make the most of our cash. We have some very small long term savings (less than £1k) that we are adding to every month we no intention to touch it for 20yrs, so i've started out with £484 (there is a reason for it not being a whole number). So far £340 has been taken up as loans and the system says that after fees and bad debt we should get a 7% return, so its worth a try i think.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

Interesting idea re funding circle. Think I am a bit risk averse to think about it yet. Maybe when have a bit of ready cash that I can put into, then might be a good idea. Is it protected by fca rules and all that?
Think that why I am risk averse to it.
More research me thinks before I dip my toes into it...
Good luck with it, it will be interesting to see if you actually get the returns they project in this current climate.

TSB regular saver is now down to 2% APR, however, if you have a Nationwide current account they offer a Regular Saver account with 5% interest up to £500 a month, which is, by far, the highest monthly amount allowed to put aside. I never see this advertised so didn't realise until recently and it's still being advertised on their website.0
