Well, had the weekend off there, and yes, I did need it. Was so tired after working on the garden that it wasn't a seat I needed, it was a lie down !!! got the edging, worst thing I bought, took hours to do, however all finished for that part, anyway.Another lunch planned today, via the PO as a couple of items sold.Weather here has been great the past week, with the sun coming out just after mid day, so very hot, not had the storms that were predicted - yet, but a landslide has closed the road to the caravan, so what with covid and landslide not been up there this year so far, and a measly 5% offered for non use.Given up the fight for a/l and pay for the moment as tired of fighting, but will take it up once I have re-charged my batteries.Oh, and bought some more PB's last week, I'm buying in small lots to get different numbers, but was thinking - is this the right tactic, or should I be buying bulk (not much fun that way) would be good to get other's opinion on this?Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.194

Re the premium bonds - frankly I have no idea some people say one thing & some another. What I do know is that I have £5k worth, only 4 wins in the last 2 years - 2 of which were with the same number. Make of that what you will.

I am new to PB's but eagerly awaited the results of Aug winners (even though I was not in it, to win it)I now have around the same amount as the winner has and tell myself - it is possible. And going on your winning 4 times - I count that as you being lucky, I hope they were nice wins.A bit speechless, the same number, would not have believed it for one minute coming from anyone but a MFWbee I've never won and held PB's for 60 years (eeek) but obviously not as many as yourself.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190

Did not occur to me whether a block of PBs or different would make a difference. I stuck £10k in, in late June so August was my first draw. The rest were small individual bonds from childhood and a £500 and one reinvested £50 winSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Thanks SL, I do think "what's for you, will not go by you" then think, "it needs a little help along the way" . . . but I just tend to overthink things. A lot.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190

I would add a note of caution about premium bonds though. The overall payout is 1.4% (it was slightly higher when I bought mine), BUT I have not reached even 0.5% over the years. Do not buy if that outcome is going to upset you. Some people are just lucky some are not. I consider myself very lucky in some ways. For example when something goes wrong in my life it never turns out as bad as it might, I consider that better than good luck at winning, although I wouldn't complain at winning the odd million!

Thanks BM, You said it, wealth isn't everything, but helps, can I say I'm not in it for the money (eek, lol) but it would help, was just looking for another alternative to the banks as a bit fed up with them and wanted somewhere to put a wee lump sum, it's just a nice new thrill for me and will eagerly await results for a few months then probably forget to look, and they will just be in the background. Not up to target yet, so will keep on buying till I reach that.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.191

I am 42 and at least 4-5 years off being able to get my deposit together so you really have inspired me by not only doing this but then working to get it paid off early! At 42 looks like you have plenty of time to gather a deposit and buy, although not recommended to leave it as late as I did. Nobody wants a mortgage at 70 !!! hence the reason to o/p with gusto. At least once you get a mortgage you can be on board from the beginning, and you will manage to do just the same as me. It takes guts to move to another country, on your own, etc, etc, if you can do that, then being a MFWbee, can be worked through. When becoming a MFWbee, I told myself, no point in sitting about doing nothing, it's up to me to o/p and become MF as no one else is going to do that for me, so read as many diaries as I could, got really great advice from my good friend @bexster1975, who was with me all the way on my journey, and good advice from everyone which helped me on my journey.Good luck and know once you get a mortgage, you will "smash it"ps - sorry to hear you are stuck in another country atm, hope you can get home soonpps - been called that a few times recently at work during this pandemic.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.192 -
So today has been very productive, (for me), I have about 3 charity bags full plus a Mr M0rris0ns bag (shoes) and a F@rmf00ds bag (books) full, ready for the CS's, and I am not finished yet, that's just a start. I hope I can keep up momentum. Oh and have 2 m00sive bags of coat hangers and a large cutting off a larger carpet - ready for the bin, but my hoarding tendencies tell me, that could cut part off and reline carboot. Hmmm, will ask as DB also has a van but not sure a cream/neutral off cut would suit either car or van.
Next I'm going through bits and bobs - found a christmas present wrapped - so opened it and found a bottle of perfume (I always buy a couple extra presents incase someone else pops along for Christmas dinner - obviously didn't need this one. Bonus for me.
Taken a while, but feel I'm making headway, got a relaxed feeling about me - could be because I know I had no work last weekend, and none this weekend. Working all through Covid, had more stresses than I realised. I (dare I say it) feel calm and completely at ease with everything atm.
Have a lovely weekend all.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190
