Hello AFK I hope your pay situation was resolved. Hardly a perfect time for that to go wrong!
Try to get yourself a break, it sounds like you need it. Just a day (or even an afternoon) of no working and no chores ( for anyone!) hope you got the shopping you needed, and work isn't too fraught this weekend. Hopefully less time to go now in lockdown than has already passed.

Hi bexster, yes - I got paid (on the correct day).Normally I do nothing on a Monday after a 19 hour weekend, but last week was so nice I just started one job in the garden which led to another . . .Only last weekend was as my work colleague said "manic" so unfortunately very busy, which made me completely knackered on the Monday.Good news is pension came through, and I should be overjoyed but somehow it all feels so flat. Nice to know it's now mine, as I was beside myself thinking the pot was going to disappear. Strange how I feel so flat. I had big plans and now feel I am not interested,I still have 2 hurdles that corona is holding back, so maybe just can't settle until they have been settled. I must say that strange as it seems but I am for the most part enjoying the lockdown. Is that strange ? The pace is much slower and everyone seems to be pulling together more.DB was furloughed 2 weeks ago until end of May, he was quite happy with that, only this Monday was told to start back next Monday !!! All his diy plans are now up in the air, along with all the diy plans I had in mind for him.Washing nearly finished, then off to hang out and enjoy the sunshine. Its glorious here.Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weather.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.193

Good morning AFK. As intype., I have a load of washing finishing off ready to go out on the line in similarly beautiful weather. I don't think it's odd it feels flat. You've been waiting and worrying for a long while over the pension, and now most big plans will be on hold. As for enjoying lickdown!, I've certainly not been unhappy for the most part. I have worried a few times my business won't survive and I'll have to get a normal job again, but that's not on the cards ( for now at least!).
Sorry to hear about DB plans, one of mine is in hospital with suspected appendicitis, an extreme way to get out of return to work.
Sun is beautiful already here, I'm going to do a few short jobs then get myself out there with a coffee and book

Another month gone by, been awol for most of it, as things gathered pace in work, and we weathered the "storm" best we could. On a lighter note, my work colleague was discharged home last Friday !!! after 8 weeks admission !!! They were all there to clap her out . . . have a video, if anyone wants to see it, let me know, and I will try and post here.I think we all feel a bit burnt out and last Monday took its toll on me, and actually slept until 1.00pm (eeek) 14 hrs.Hoping to enjoy the weather in the next few days, friends birthday on Tues, and DN on Wednesday.Hope you had a lovely birthday @bexster1975, know I must have missed it, as read it was late May? am I right?Have been trying (with not much success) to design (that means rearrange) my garden, I had high hopes, but nothing seems to be going the way I planned. Not sure if I mentioned was thinking about Premium Bonds, and I'm still thinking, unless anyone has any other good ideas for a small sum with good interest. I live in hope.An opportunity has arisen, and there is an end terrace 2 bed coming up for sale soon, and I have a 3 bed quarter villa, so would be downsizing but has a private garden, (I have a small garden, which I could make private with a fence built) but then would require a small mortgage - for the move, not the garden !!!. Do I, don't I. I think I may have just given myself the answer. Now I need to catch up on quite a few diaries, hope everyone is well.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.192

Hello AFK
Excellent news re:colleague. I had a lovely birthday thanks. Ooooh to the house. That would be exciting! Would the mortgage be small enough that you are comfortable with it, and for the time you need it. Sorry, have been similarly AWOL. I have had a good amount of work come in, and am sorting out something else in anticipation of schools still not being back properly in September ( more on that later). I do not think it is strange to have enjoyed parts of lockdown. As self employed, I have certainly had my wobbles, especially at the start of all this, but I have a good back up fund, few essential expenses and had enough to pay for necessary bills even when I had very few hours work a week. Things are looking up, got my first HMRC payment, will be entitled to a second (which should cover loss of exam marking this year). Growing food is going well. Not sure I would say there is a community spirit here, but the slower pace has been nice. I fear things are getting very much "back to normal" where I am so fully expect the R0 to rise again. Bad news for those shielding especially.
Stay well and relaxed
