Ok, spent just under £15.00 at the new cheap food shop, but was stalking up, then L1d1's had myfavourite salmon back in to 2 packs were bought with a few other items - however at checkout they
gave me a £5 off voucher, and a few more to take home to use later - valid up to beg/mid March
Big reveal - nothing exciting - but I enjoy it (for now) - New Hobby is Coin collecting
So no money spent :money:, no money madeand although ties up a very small amount of cash,
If I get into dire straights - I can always use the cash :rotfl:
Busy week ahead - shopping for a hoover for mum, then lunch with old workmates, then another
funeral Wed morn, that leaves Thurs, Frid. Still on the "to do" list is order new specs.
Enjoy the week.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Hoover ordered, lunch with old workmates (they have all retired  eeek, can't believe I'm saying that):rotfl: however they all worked in a sector that you can retire early, phew - thank goodness.
Spent £10 all in and we had a good catch up.
Still not used to my part time salary - but well used to the part time hours :rotfl:.
Had a peak at my salary this month - downfall of working part-time - money is in the bank before I get to see payslip as you can only access it online from workWill check when I get to work.
Started moving some furniture round, and still clearing out, rooms are looking much better but still got a long way to go. Know as I finish, it will be time to start decorating
Enjoying the longer daylight days now, which makes me plan more - can't wait to get started, but still
making lists  so a lot to do, and need to be in the mood. That's where the diaries come into play, as
soon as I read someone clearing out - going to CS and tip - I'm off :j looking for items to bag and get rid of.
Looking at the implications of taking my pension lump sum, tax wise, and noticed a difference in the tax rate here. Still got a couple of months to decide.
Saw 3D boxed frames to house my collection(s) at a bargain price - and hesitated buying them, hopefully will still be there on Monday when I can get back to the shop.
So today is housework day, empty bins, wash floors, etc, etc. must get on.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Hope you got all the housework done! What a great idea re: 3D frames!! I don't really "collect" coins, but when interesting ones cross my path, I keep them. I have several Beatrix potter ones, and all the new Paddington 50p pieces ( I think two from 2018 and two from 2019). Never thought about displaying them.
Sorry to hear part time pay is more shocking than part time hours
I'm having a quiet weekend. I seem to have a bit of a cold so a couple of NSDs ahead. I have 14 so far this month. So I am currently in bed with a coffee, listening to classic fm and about to get stuck into my library ebook which is a new release ( and I think won an award last year). I have put a load of washing in the drier that I did overnight before the full price electricity kicks in. But I think that is the extent of chores today. Maybe a little pampering session later.
OH is picking up paint today for the next phase of his house renovation. We have seen a couple of places we really like, so hopefully that will be the impetus needed to get his place ready to sell.
Have a fab weekend xx

Housework all done - starting on all Xmas Decs - have managed to reduce right down to 2 bags
3D frames, still not bought as haven't managed to get to the shop yet, Monday was taken up
and today - weather wasn't great, woke up to a dust covering of snow, so did not venture out at all.
Will either be tomorrow or Thursday, I think Thursday as need to do another job on, so may as well
get use out of my bus ticket, speaking of which, got 2 journeys Monday for free - againthis is getting to be a habit
I'm still thinking about money lost instead of time gained, but really can't complain as enjoying time off immensely.
Hope your cold is much better now, and that OH's house is now painted. Great news to hear you have
seen a few places you both like. I browse rightmove/zoopla often just to see others interiors and try to
steal some ideas re decor.
Just 1 more week at work, then off for 19 days :jAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Good morning AFK still burning the midnight oil then!
1 more week and 19 days off! That will be almost the whole of February!
Hope you get the 3D box frames. I'm going to check out the charity shops Thursday and Friday and see if I can buy a couple.
As for the less money, what things did you use s to enjoy doing that you find you can't afford to now? Just trying to think outside the box as to how you can do same things on little/no money.
I have probably said before, I use the libraries app Borrow Box and can download snooks and audiobooks at my leisure. When I go to the bookshops with OH, I work out how much I have saved reading the new releases I am enjoying on the library app. Very little better in winter than a hot drink and a book of an afternoon.
Cold is a lot better, OH decorating is a slightly bigger project!
Have a good last " week" before your holiday

Yes, still burning the midnight oil, and just up a little later than normal.
Only 5 working days in Feb, but thinking of taking the 29th Feb off as that was my
original MF target date and 8 year anniversary of starting the mortgage:beer:this Sunday will be 8 years since I was at the auction and bought the house :j
March will be much better as I have 3 working days :eek:finish up 8th March and wont be back till the 4th April :rotfl: Wow ee - Will be just like a retired person :rotfl:
I am doing much the same activities (with more time to do them) and can only think of one thing I'm
not doing that I used to - and that's - save as much :money: can't quite get used to that, but I am
actually not spending as much :A
Great idea re the books, I have one sitting at my bedside for the last few months - still unopened,
need to learn to relax more :rotfl:
Glad your cold is much better, but OH has a bigger project, as always will look lovely once finished.
Good Luck with that. I will wait to spring before starting, unless relatives from opposite corners of the earth descend, as they have hinted they will be over this year.
Weather not bad as expected this morning - no snow, will see how day goes but planning to get my frames tomorrow - I hope they still have them - 14" square - unpainted £3, or painted white ones £5
each from Tea J HUg3s (if you have one near you), planning on getting 4.
Have a great day and rest of week.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Thanks for the tip re: 3D frames. We don't have that store here anymore. I will see what a charity shop raid turns up. To be fair, as the coins I have I've kept in a drawer for a couple of years, it's not a hurry. I really liked the idea though. I only really keep them as I mostly use cash ( unlike 90% if people it appears!! ) and so I like to keep the unusual ones. I also keep £5 that start with AA. I was once told they are worth more than their face value. I know what you mean, re: saving, but I'm not concerned as, like you, I don't spend as much as I used to.
Congratulations for Sunday! Didn't 8 years fly by!
Bexster0 -
Well strangely enough - I also keep the unusual notes, not sure if I have any AA'sbut got a Clydesdale 1960 £1 note - kept that as the year I was born :shhh: and got one with the serial no - all the ones.
Hate it though when I get new notes from the cash machine  I once got £200 - all brand new £20's, all running in serial no order  think I have half left:rotfl:
Thanks, 8 years, nearly there, no way did I ever think I would be where I am now, MF and P/T :beer:Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Wow to the £20 notes! How gutting to have to spend them!
Lol re: the 1960 note!
Amazing what consistent effort can do in regards 8 years and part time  indeed!!
Only an hour of work this evening, a quick shop at Aldi on the way home and I then have only 5 hours work between this evening and Monday afternoon! Part time forever!! :j
Bexster0 -
Totally gutted, but had to use some of them, felt like Woopie Goldberg handing over money but at the same time keeping hold of it :rotfl:
Burning midnight oil, againpayslips were bothering me, so out came calculator, formula for working out pay and spent a few hours on it. Looks strange to me, so hopefully a phone call will
clear it all up. Think I may be in for some back paynot a lot but when going part time, every bit helps.
Some time this week, will need to go chromebook shopping, can't get onto my paypal account  and I know I have ££'s in there, usually wait to beg of month then move over, this time, I can't get by the captcha  so will either get someone else to do it, or wait till I get my new chromebook.
Also phoned pension, still swaying about taking it allthey suggested I speak to pensionwise, said
I had done that and that they were no help at allstill have about 6 weeks to make mind up, then get ball rolling :j
Off for some sleep now, may descend on ike@ tomorrow, they have breakfast for £1.
Oh, and managed to get an appointment to consumer advice, they said they would write to double glazing company as I do have a 10 year guaranteehowever the dg co are saying the glass  is not
guaranteed . . . :rotfl:oh, and neither is the white round the glass, oh nor the handles and letterbox, so that leaves . . . what exactly  :rotfl:They give them a month to reply - looking forward to that.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190
