see this is why I like reading diaries through from the start before I start … great example of where I jumped in with both feet into my mouth (if only I were that athletic!) - you are already doing great on fleabay … congrats :T
I'm only really just getting started with massively overdue binge last week - from that a couple of things I have discovered:
- my carp is mostly not new / in boxes yet still seems to get bought, so I'm sure your lovely stuff would do better
- completely understand about the impatience, but if it doesn't go first time it seems to be worth re-listing on a 30 day BIN - or even for another auction, I've had a couple of things go on the second round which had no watchers the first, it's weird but I guess just depends on pot luck
- my tablet really really helps with the photos … I spent forever doing the listings / descriptions at desk and then used the app to add pictures - that was bad enough but I think / hope quicker than camera (although there are probably ways I've no idea about). So if you have any way of borrowing a smartphone / tablet once you've done lots of listings, to add the pics, it takes a bit of the pain away.
But the biggest thing - which I completely failed to do - is just get going and do a bit at a time. Which you are doing already, so no idea why I'm still wittering (NOT withering, as autocorrect really wants me to say, hope that's not trying to tell me something :rotfl:)
But there are people on here who are really experts … I think it was Goldie who said she had been decluttering for 6 years :A so I'm sure there are lots of better tips available ...Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
Thanks, Hollyboll,I have listed a few things, but disaster struck last night when i received a message from a buyer asking when i was sending their parcel. Oh .....no...... they should have received it ages ago.....the other 2 parcels i sent at the same time had been received and feedback left for me. Oh horrors ...... anyhow i now have to be patient and see if it turns up. So cloud over head at the moment.:(
And to continue on that theme, i now have a label to print for a parcel to send and my printer is not working properly since i got my chromebook, seems its a bit of a pain to connect a printer, so haven't properly tried yet, so library visit on the cards this morning:(.
Got paid on Thursday but nothing happens on my mortgage account till the 1st and that being the weekend will be the 2nd or 3rd before i see any change on my account:( seems to be taking an age.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Frayed not - I am just taking out a first mortgage at 49 and it is sooo reassuring to know I'm not the only one. Will carry on reading. With interest... Thank you for sharing.0

Taking an age all right, money out of BS, disappears for 1-2 days, then appears in mortgage payment, (not happened yet), then of course for some of us - it was a five week month.
Basic food shopping done. Also toiletries that were needed. Paid for works xmas night out and a present bought, so money disappearing fast. Thinking of changing my account to get a free £100+ or so, which would come in handy, need to have a look and see whats on offer.
I should be happier hopefully by Tuesday, when the dust settles, see what i've got left to play with.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

Pay off early? I had to max the term to make it manageable but took 3yr fixed to just sort out what is possible and hopefully overpay each month.... Then review. Have always enjoyed freedom so just getting mortgage was/is a big deal for me -
What's a diary? I'm def going to end up trying to find ways to earn to pay off - hindsight is a wonderful thing most of my friends are near mortgage free now when previously they may have envied my freedom it's like the shoe is on the other foot now!0 -
Evening AFK, I just popped on to say our virtual 'conversation' had inspired me and I'm listing a couple more things this evening. Sorry to hear about your postal challenges - I've just started using H3rmes which at least is trackable and I think slightly cheaper than RM, but very early days.
I'm a proper tart when it comes to current accounts, switching is very easy money when there are deals on … I always find out about them on this site!Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
Pay off early? I had to max the term to make it manageable Best idea just to get a feel of all bills etc - don't want to leave yourself short, I maxed out too, 18 years is all they would give me, but i'm 3 1/2 years in and my goal is to finish 29.2.20 instead of 28.2.30!!!

That's what i done, but only because there was a lot of work required to the house

Oh yeah, know that feeling well, had a flat that was really cheap rent, so my money was mine !!! but you do adjust and know what - its not that a big deal, you're just more aware of what you do with your money aka "having an "aware" head on"
What's a diary?
Its a MFW (mortgage free wanabee) who starts their journey with an introduction post of themselves (just have a look at all the 1st posts in their diaries - you'll see what i mean)then posts updates on how they are doing - just like a diary - how you found mine, pick a title for your diary and away you go.
I'm def going to end up trying to find ways to earn to pay off -
Look out for Tilly mortgage free in 6 years Diary,Secret saving squirrel, edinburgher amongst others they all have magical ideas and ways in abundance on how to save and overpay. Wish Tilly was here she would put you to right.:D

Got good advice re parcel (they told me to log on to royal mail redeliver and request just that) could be they tried and got no one in - fingers crossed, and used h3rmes today for the first time and PO wanted around £12-£13 for a parcel with "free postage" Got it for under £6.00 with h3rmes:DAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190
