Apple Pay

Think that is because their contactless reader doesn't support Amex Contactless, only Visa and Mastercard. There is no Amex logo on it.0

No, it doesn't. If you're using your default card, then you just hold your iPhone over the card reader, even with the screen switched off, and it immediately lights up with a picture of your default card. Then you put your finger or thumb on the fingerprint reader, and the transaction is completed. It's slightly easier than a contactless card, because unlike a contactless card, the iPhone is powered by a battery and so it works from at least 10cm from the card reader.Even better, you don't even need to unlock your iPhone, because the iPhone lights up with the default card as soon as you hold it close to a card reader that is requesting a payment (TfL card readers are permanently requesting a payment).
Thanks for these posts, I set it up on my phone following RBS instructions no problem, just need to find a shop to try it outIts not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0 -
I was sold before today, but I've had the best time paying with my phone today... It's like being in the future!0

None of these are even be in the power user category, but apple didn't even support them. These are off the top of my head.
* Folders.
* Copy/paste.
* Updating shared network drives.
* Not launching itunes when i plug my phone in.

I used it in Waitrose, Boots, Cafe Nero, a local greengrocers, Clinton Cards and to buy a SouthWest train ticket this afternoon, all with a Santander 123 credit card.
All transactions worked first time but everyone of the cashiers looked at me as if I had come straight from Mars. None of them knew what was going on. The girl in Boots initially tried to shove my phone out of the way and said 'no no, you must use your card'. All of them examined the receipt and their till in detail, just to make sure they'd actually taken money off me. In Waitrose, three cashiers locked their stations and hurried over to my checkout to share the excitement of my cashier. Hilarious.
I am amazed that not even Boots and Waitrose, supposedly launch partners, had informed their staff to expect some martian-types turning up from today.
Little surprise then that I couldn't get any sense out of any of them about their limits for Apple Pay.
From a Marketing and Customer Service point of view, it's a great example on how not to go about it. From a technical point of view, it is working brilliantly.0 -

I have an iPhone but I wouldn't class myself as an Apple fanboy but...
I have folders in my photos album. Is this what you are refering to?
I'm not sure what you mean by copy/paste. I have copied photos directly onto my laptop if that's what you mean.
There's an option not to launch itunes when a phone is connected. I turned it off long ago as it got on my nerves but I can't remember where I did it. I dare say that you could google the answer.0 -

All pictures go in the one camera roll though dont they? Not now in iOS 9.

Copy paste was a recent edition.
With multiple iphones itunes gets mixed up and forgets your settings for auto launching. Happens all the time in software development when you work on Iphone (which i did for a few years). Now sure if its fixed now, but this was even a common thing with OSX itunes. So couldn't be blamed on the dire pile of dung itunes is on Windows.0 -
I would hold back until the 2nd generation watch is released. The current one is too chunky and lacks sufficient battery duration.
Have you actually used and Apple watch to make the assumption that battery lacks sufficient durtion?
I get about 18 hours use out of mine which is more than enough to get me through a day before I got to bed and charge it.
As for it being chunky again that maybe your opinion, its no more chunky than most fashion or other watches such as the pebble watch.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0
