Ooh, SP Spaghetti! Presumably only comparing 20p vs 20p at T? And way way more expensive at Sains!:( I suspect now N/A vs M (for all of two pence or so:rotfl:) - can you confirm? TIA.0 -

I seem to think Aberdeenshire was the only good place in the UK that day. I acknowledge that, on average, I've probably had it better now than you - but 26 degrees eh?, not too bad!
In fact we probably have 23 degrees tomorrow, which isn't bad, but forecast maybe a lot of rain to spoil it:(.

Wonder if you'd get the compensation for a delayed flight if you were bussed back to original airport?
I'm wondering on our next flight to the US (whenever that is?) if you are better off not giving yourself loads of time to catch the ongoing flight to your final destination?
The last time we had a flight to New Orleans we were nearly 5hrs late departing from Heathrow BUT they made up just over an hour so we landed at Dallas just 3-4 minutes under 4hrs late. However we were stuck on the plane for over an hour as they didn't have anyone to open the shute or whatever they call the walkway? The flight delay website was stating under 4hrs delay!
We missed our connecting flight but managed to race around the airport to catch the last flight of the day to New Orleans. Had we not run for the plane we'd have been stuck until the following morning at Dallas - think we were stupid running in hindsight as we'd have had a nice little sum if we'd have missed that one!
Because we'd left ourselves 3hrs+ connecting time at Dallas instead of booking the next flight to New Orleans an hour later (easily do-able but we thought we'd have a lazy stop for a meal & a walk - restaurants aren't bad in Dallas airport) we ended up again just missing the 4hr delay.
600 Euros compensation each would have gone a good way towards paying for our flights so may decide to cut down on connection times next time we fly.0 -

We have the French Windows open, the back door, front and back windows open upstairs and it is still HOT! Went to the bathroom and thought it felt nice and cool, rather startlingly it was 31 degrees :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Trying to get a shop put together against Waitrose. I have toblerone, Udis and muller (I can only find 4 mullers that compare available). Notice that beef and ham are at silly prices again - 29p ish for 100gm. Not carried at our A's but might be carried in more affluent areas?
Anything else good for Waitrose?
I'm sat here freezing as hubby has A/C unit on full blast as hubby was finding it difficult to breathe in the heat. I think we bought the unit about 4-5years ago & can count the number of times it's been used on 2 hands. Brrrrr0 -
A decision was bugging me massively. I got this job yesterday but I also had an interview on Friday for my last place, which I was told was pretty much guaranteed that I'd get the job. I'd then have to have chosen between the two.
It's been bugging me all day.
Decision made - I'm definitely taking yesterday's job - I have to remember why I chose to leave the last place. I'd have been going back for all the wrong reasons.

The time that counts is the time you reach the destination, so it is the time the bus got you to destination. But, big but, extreme weather is accepted as a reason for denying compensation claims, so whereas the airline has a duty to look after you, it doesn't have to pay money.
As far as simple flights landing at the destination, the time is the time that at least one door of the plane is opened.
As for connection flights, if the whole journey is on one ticket then it is the time at final destination that counts. If you book on separate tickets then it is down to you if you miss your connection and the second flight airline could charge you full fare if you missed your check-in time because you were still in the air on the first flight. So you may get compensation from airline 1 but end up spending it with airline 2. If your journey is on one ticket then the airline must sort things out, but each airport has a MCT (minimum connection time) and they won't let you book connections on one ticket that are less than this. Remember also that compensation is only due from EU airlines or flights departing from the EU, so a journey home with American Airlines wouldn't get you any compo.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
