We are also in the midst of negotiating with sky but not getting far.
So I got the chap to say our discussion and I said I would call back - or rather I hope that they would call me back with so,etching better.
So far I've got £5 a month for unlimited landline calls including 0845 same as last year.
£5 for unlimited broadband down from £7.50 - but we have a very slow line so it's not really unlimited.
£29.50 for the family package - about the same as he gave a discount
£11.50 line rental - free last year - this is the bit that really annoys us last year it was free - we used to pay annually so it worked out at about £10 a month - can't pay annually any more but he said its something they are thinking about - yes I am sure they are!
So it's still the wrong side of £50  It was £44 something, just gone up to £45 - another £17 going on the bill on August 1st
Maybe I could try ringing again in the morning - now I think about it I want sure if I was talking to the cancellations department
With Sky you always get the best deals cancelling - it then goes to an outbound cancellation team who will phone you with a better offer than inbound can give. Generally 60% off TV is being achieved from reports on other forums.
You have 30 days to play chicken before your cancellation actually goes through, so plenty of time fo rthem to call you or you to change your mind if they don't call back (they generally do, as losing lots of customers at the moment due to the change in football rights).
The £16.40 offer in Currys/CPW for phone, broadband and Original TV is a good place to point them to in negotiations.
