Glad it went well. It is true, it always rains in Manchester.

Both mine studied there, so ask away if you want any info.

It must have been a truly special day when I sat outside Piccadilly with my lunch and the sun blazing down then :rotfl:

    Help please.

I want to make a little chart for currency conversations, one I can print off and laminate - yes I know they fluctuate but it will at least give me a clue.

does anyone know of a suitable link?

I know that possibly there is an app - suitable for an iphone 6??? but I don't if there will be wi fi?

    OK, now sorted out :)

    Good morning all...

I've just been and done what can only be described as the biggest muggle shop ever...we needed food and bits and the T spit told me I had saved .78p...oh well better luck next time!!

Spent the W/E in Manchester looking at the uni ....it rained but all in all a productive visit...
Now facing a couple of very busy weeks leading to the eventual end of term I think at the end of next week...but between now and then its full throttle...
Hope everyone is good...so I'm off for a readback of what I may have missed over the last few days.

Ok, I am here - I might as well admit:D:D. I noticed a price missing from the M list:eek:(:rotfl:) so came back to add it on. I have a few minutes before I'm due to go out, so just to let you know I am going to M today (I need to be in that area in any event) so I am doing the price collection (yes, the only one!) but goodness knows whether I will on Wednesday as that looks a more difficult day but that would last all weekend whereas this one just lasts two days, anyway I'm waffling again!

Did something a bit wrong there if you 'saved' 78p, what did you buy? Last time I went to T I got a PP of the exact amount I was looking for, wasn't shortchanged! I did not fall for any of their special offers - had I done so, it would have reduced my PP quite substantially. Key is having the willpower to resist. Usually, having to do specific shops does mean we are able to resist 'cheaper' items but, then, with me, knowing too much of what is cheaper elsewhere can be a tempter particularly if they are on really good offer at the competitor!! End up impulse-buying competitor offers if I'm not careful:o:(:rotfl:.

I ended up at T last time and Mr A was much farther away so would have ended up paying extra for petrol!! So I bought a few items that A has discontinued on the SP range, in other words, put the prices up for us there, without comparison, and yes we did need everything I bought:cool:. I was also trying to find the Everyday Nailbrush given that A SP ones have disappeared - the Eday one now wasn't online for T and, indeed, no luck in the store either; however this was fortunate as I found a Nailbrush at Home Bargains - shows how expensive the supermarkets can be:eek: - at 39p. It's a wooden one but anything will do! Like everywhere though, not everything at HB is always cheaper than a supermarket - it depends if you hit the right time: for example, the Rectangular Bowls that were bought in specially and eventually went to 48p in M (now appear to be long gone:(), the equivalent in HB is 99p. However, at least last week, M now wanted £1.87:eek: on an 'offer' price for their Rectangular Bowls - they can forget about that one! - that are now their regular (and still much more expensive) ones rather than the ones that were bought in earlier. Regular price of these things is probably north of £3 or £4:eek:.

I've been looking away from the majors: I found some offers in Lidl the other day, wasn't energised enough to come back to here, but they all turned out that... Lidl was more expensive (than some equivalent elsewhere)...

In fact, Fig Rolls (200g) down to 39p - however, unless you live in Northern Ireland, they are 2 for 70p in M (or cheaper if Avs M works).
And the Assorted Fruit Splits (6 pack) seemed good at 69p. However, Iceland's 8 pack at 89p works out cheaper by volume. Lidl's would have to be about 63p to match the Iceland price, so, I was ripped off slightly there by failing to check:(:rotfl:. Nonetheless, I previously compared vs £1 prices from A against T the major supermarkets so that was even worse!!:rotfl:

I also found the Basics/Eday Chicken & Veg. Pies (frozen 4 pack) are £1 - amazingly Mr S doesn't have a higher price there! They seem better price than going for ones in A or expensive Birds Eye. As for Steak Pies, with BE Steak Pies having been so so expensive for many years (A did have a reduction at one stage, but prices ever since have been so much more expensive) - it seems Iceland's Steak pies (frozen 4 pack) at £1.50 are now the place to go to for there!! If you couldn't find 10p RTC items in Mr A, as my Mr As never never have!
Alright, that takes me to the time where I am probably best going out, so goodbye for now!:)

Can you use the vouchers anywhere or is it certain supermarkets?

So far I have used them in Tesco, Sainsburys and Co-op, think most supermarkets take them, but not sure about other shops.

I'm sorry savvy...I was probably being a tad sarcastic when I mentioned I managed to save 78p rather than constructing my shopping list with a bit more thought ....I really needed to stock up this morning and to a point time was against me so I admit to doing a muggle shop rather than splitting it out to perhaps have got a better deal...

Its not often I get a you saved type spit in fact I think this might be the first this year.

No need to apologise. I missed your sarcasm(:rotfl::rotfl:) - however, "tone of voice" sometimes doesn't come across in text so maybe it was due to that:cool:.

I don't need to construct shopping with thought - I just find it virtually impossible to mix expensive and cheaper items these days due to always knowing what's cheaper or not elsewhere:rotfl:. (Yes, I know that's a split infinitive but, on this occasion, I just couldn't be bothered to reword it and any attempt to do so seemed to give a more much cumbersome and 'unnatural' way of expression.)

People need to take me to the shops these days when doing an unplanned shop - I'd be like "don't buy that", "put that in a different transaction", "oooh, that's more expensive at Sainsbury's" - I'd be an absolute nightmare, like a nagging voice in your head, so can I see why people don't bother!!:rotfl:

Do you know what....I'd like nothing more than a "savvy doll" or app to take to the shops with me...I think you really have got something there....and this time its said without a hint of sarcasm...

Huge Misprice - EE Osprey WiFi showing £0 monthly charges and free devices
Looks like they have messed up the pricing of the wifi dongle contracts on the EE website, I went to go for it but they are bound to notice that your paying £0 for the contract so I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. Some others may be interested though.

    ** And upto £50 quidco cashback :) **
