On medicine, one thing I can't understand is the amount of people that, in my view, waste money on Nurofen. IMO, as far as I am concerned, it's absolutely and completely identical to the active ingredient Ibuprofen and that ingredient is the only one really to be concerned about. Nonetheless, if something is in liquid form and has other ingredients, perhaps, in some cases, "...[t]here's also some evidence that liquid capsules are absorbed marginally faster because the tablet doesn't have to break down. But essentially, there's little difference between the regular and fast-absorbing products." However, in any case, even if a product claims to be faster absorbing, that's not clinically relevant and therefore I will be having no truck of any such claims: they may well be true but are, IMO, completely irrelevant (so are not going to get me to pay pounds and pounds more for some branded product).
Not always true.
I get bad headaches that make me puke if I don't sort them out quickly. The ordinary Nurofen and generic ibuprofen don't work quick enough and bear in mind that once I start being sick I won't be able to keep the tablets down, where as the faster acting tablet formulation does work quickly.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Lots of people write trip reports - you might find it interesting to read some by people who travel without small people. There are some great food reports too, if that's your thing.
Thanks, I will have a noseyLadyshopper wrote: »There is loads to do in Orlando that isn't theme parks. I've been twice, but only actually did Disney the first time. My inlaws came with us, as they wanted to see the kids experience Disney.
My inlaws are about as far from Disney fans as you can imagine. I think kids were 9 and 10. My inlaws were gobsmacked that they actually enjoyed the Disney Parks, as they really didn't expect to. They came with us most of the time, sometimes they didn't and went off and did their own thing (they had hired a car, so went to Kennedy Space Centre and spent a couple of days at the beach there. However, they also ended up going to the Parks on their own, when we were either doing other stuff, or were at the one the other parks. They particularly liked Epcot.
There is something magical about Disney, and I truly think there is something for everyone. I guess what I'm saying is don't automatically discount it thinking you'll hate it, you might be surprised!
I've got 5 days in Orlando next month as part of a larger trip. Am doing Universal as never done it before, but am also going to go to Downtown Disney, which is free, just to get a bit of a disney fix and soak up the atmosphere! Am also hoping to spend a day shopping at the outlets (in reality it will probably be a few hours as I am in too much discomfort otherwise), and will relax around the hotel for the rest of the time.
We quite like the look of universaland downtown Disney is on the list. We are going to the fireworks at Magic Kingdom one one night, KSC is on the list, as is Cape canaveral and possibly Tampa bay.
I have to stop fretting about it all until I have come back from my hols in September!

Downtown Disney has really changed.. you will notice a LOT of construction as they are putting up 4 or 5 new car parks.. I think only orange is done.. its good tho as lots of new bits added. If you want Disney stuff goto LBV outlets.. a Disney shop outlet (real) with really good priced kids toys.. wife collects the figures has about 200 of them.. she puts in the attic when she don't show them off.. about 40 a time on the shelves. I think she spent thousands and thousands on them. Ill take a picture soon. She collects them.. some she paid $300 for one and worth about $1200 now. my daughter bought a tinkerbell about 10 years ago (we bought it for her for $200) worth $2000 now. the limited edition stuff is the best ones to get. If you want ones to resell in 10-20 years don't open the box.0 -

....yes I know there's a way for clever people to do it
I dispute that you're not intuitive or instinctive. By recognising that it's even an issue.....you are. You just may be more 'normal' than you think in some respects. To be intuitive and instinctive is as normal as to doubt those 'instincts' isI'll leave the psychology there for tonight.
The time has come to find an alternative to haircut nightthe stress levels in here tonight have made me understand how wars are started
OH has gone away minus 2 layers of skin
I've lost a days application of waterproof mascara and poor, poor DS2 is just saying he wishes he'd never looked in the mirror and saw that curl
........he's very conscious since the bullying incident that if anything makes him stand out, it might be picked up on so the haircut was at his request.
Oh my, if there's not a charity out there that helps with things that are deemed so trivial....there should be! Autistic friendly barbers and hairdressers? It's the future
I know hair cut night is traumatic. As ds2 has a buzzer crew cut (I presume) is it worth him trying to do it himself as very simple and I know alot of men do their own.
If not, what is the main problem, is it sensory due to vibrations or does ds2 think he can feel the cuts.
If he can help pinpoint what he doesn't like maybe we can find a solution.

Oh well, difference of opinion. That's what this forum's for so thanks for that:T. Perhaps sometimes it is worth paying more if something is more effective.
Though I don't know - I'd still go by whether it's clinically relevant and by the evidence of that but that's just likely to be me and may not be significant for others (or may be disputed).
I don't know though - perhaps there's something about where you think something is working and therefore it is psychological:think:. But, then, maybe that can be of more help if it does the trick! Even assuming it was anything like that and not the pill anyway - it may be the pill.
I know how bad it is when I sometimes have pain (and it's easy for me as some people have to live with pain all the time:() - and I know that I want pain to go quickly and, while never instant, for me, "standard" Ibuprofen (although not always paracetamol) are adequate enough. (I might even have a psychological thing if I were to take the more expensive "faster acting" ones - because I don't believe they are any clinically better and therefore don't have any faith that they will work - perhaps if I took one it wouldn't seem, to me, to work any more effectively because I don't believe that it does.)
I assume, if you have a real serious problem underlining the headaches, or if they are a frequent problem, you would already have sought medical advice from your doctor. Sorry to hear of your problems about getting headaches that make you physically sick etc... and, I also suppose, it's a case of whatever works for you and glad to hear that it works for you.0 -
