All this talk amd pics of Disney, and someone came round earlier to chat to us about Florida, Disney, universal and everything else Orlando, I'm getting a little bit excited about going now, but none of us want to spend two weeks trawling around theme parks :o

It's ok when you have kids or grandkids. I have neither and as much as I love my friends and their kids....

There is loads to do in Orlando that isn't theme parks. I've been twice, but only actually did Disney the first time. My inlaws came with us, as they wanted to see the kids experience Disney.

My inlaws are about as far from Disney fans as you can imagine. I think kids were 9 and 10. My inlaws were gobsmacked that they actually enjoyed the Disney Parks, as they really didn't expect to. They came with us most of the time, sometimes they didn't and went off and did their own thing (they had hired a car, so went to Kennedy Space Centre and spent a couple of days at the beach there. However, they also ended up going to the Parks on their own, when we were either doing other stuff, or were at the one the other parks. They particularly liked Epcot.

There is something magical about Disney, and I truly think there is something for everyone. I guess what I'm saying is don't automatically discount it thinking you'll hate it, you might be surprised!

I've got 5 days in Orlando next month as part of a larger trip. Am doing Universal as never done it before, but am also going to go to Downtown Disney, which is free, just to get a bit of a disney fix and soak up the atmosphere! Am also hoping to spend a day shopping at the outlets (in reality it will probably be a few hours as I am in too much discomfort otherwise), and will relax around the hotel for the rest of the time.
