I've heard of hacks with email addresses, bank details, credit cards, etc, but I've never heard of passport details being stolen for any use. Unless anyone knows any different..0 -
I am still waiting for my seller account to be validated although I sent 2 lots of documents a while ago! maybe I need to chase it up!0

A Passport also seems a gross intrusion. Re hackers in Amazon and Ebay, you'd have to be dreaming if you didn't think its a risk.
As RFW has already said, passports don't have that much information on. Amazon already have all the information that hackers would want and they can do far more with that than any passport.
Anything you do on the internet is technically a risk. Sites are constantly tracking you and logging your actions. They can know where abouts in the world you are. Some will be more precise and accurate than others, but there are many who will know which town or city you live in. They know what operating system you use, which browser you are using (possibly even which version of that browser), they know which pages you're going on, how long you're staying on each page, which site you came from if you were linked there and so on. That is all without you having an account.
Then on sites where you have an account they know your email address, possibly payment details, name, address, possibly DOB, gender, what you're buying, any private mesages sent and so on. If you use social media then there's possibly other personal/private information on there.
If you're worried about your details and hackers then Amazon wanting to see your passport is the least of your worries lol.0 -
According to the Amazon forums, they range from ten hours to a lot longer, some were complaining of 3-4 months.
Oh well, I won't worry then- I'm sure they will be quick enough to ask for more info if they don't like what I have already provided.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Don't think so
Plenty of people don't use their real names on FB -I certainly don't-I use my first name and a nickname. If someone knows me they'd recognize me from it- If they don't- they don't need to know my legal name unless I choose to share that info with them.
So long as no-one complains about your posts FB don't care.
It's actually advised not to use your real name from a identity fraud and inquisitive employer viewpoint.
Yes, it is true! Google if you don't believe me!
If they suspect you are using a false name they will close it. It's happened to thousands already, including myself.
