Im trying to help you, my cheques that were paid out came from capital bank and halifax who are both owned by Bos, did you have any connections with these banks.0

I understand your trying to help and I do bank with Halifax but I've never had a personal loan which bos are telling me that I have they have give me an account number it was paid into and this account number is not mine.0

Maybe wires have been crossed by the bank, see what info they provide you with. Keep us all updated if you can.0

Just recevied another poorly worded letter telling me : Please pay in your cheque before it is stopped I have 30 days to cash before a stop is put on it. This is the first time in my life a bank has been so careful and helpful in giving me money via badly worded letters. Something is soooooo odd0

Hi I received a letter and cheque from BOS this month for £135.20 It seemed funny not Ha Ha
I looked in Company House regarding JJ Collections/ Harry Singh.
I found that Harry was employed by Bank of Scotland and at the same time was a director of JJ Collections
It would appear that Harry was in charge of the DIRTY TRICKS Division of the Bank of Scotland.
I have not cashed the cheque as I feel Harry may have another agenda.
I hope this info may be useful.0 -
Any comments mr dunston h0

Hi i have had yet another reminder to Please pay in your cheque before it is stopped, very odd for a bank to be so concerned about paying me money back, still not going to cash it smells awfully fishy to me, i think Dirty Harry is up to something.0

I think the cheque is genuine and BoS is trying to head off another scandal. In the case of Blair, Oliver & Scott (B.O.S., get it?), J & J Collections and others, these were fake debt collection/ solicitors companies wholly owned by BoS and used to put pressure on customers and former customers to "pay up". The Bank and its subsidiaries have charged these fees when the account wasn't actually being transferred anywhere. For example, J & J Collections shared a variety of addresses with Bank of Scotland over the years. Its last address (company now dormant) is shared with a Lloyds Bank call centre. Lloyds, as you know, own BoS. BoS is making the refund and compensation offers to try to close off claims for damages. Their actions were highly questionable if not actually illegal, they want this skeleton buried, hence reminders. Capita Employee Services (named on the letters) provide a customer tracking service, as well as the ability for bulk mailing letters and cheques. HTH.0

I've had yet another letter with a cheque for a different amount.
This letter states that they are refunding some further changes. The letter goes on to state that "we have contacted ***** who have informed us that the account is closed and we are now enclosing a further refund and a cheque for £68 is included below. This payment includes the fee amount plus an interest payment of 8% for the period from when we applied the fee up to the end of this year. I've included a table on the back that shows you how we worked out your refund.
This payment covers your refund of the fee plus interest, as we have already sent you a cheque for £50 to compensate for any distress and inconvenience the charging of these fees may have caused you"
I didn't bank the original cheque and I did receive a letter to say that the original cheque would be stopped If it wasn't paid in within 30 days. Has anyone else received a letter like this?0 -
I hsd the letter for £50, that sent me delving through old paperwork. I made several claims for ppi, and im £12k better off. So happy that they sent me the letter.
I must say that al my loans were paid off about 12 to 15 years ago.0
