Hi good morning, all! It promises to be a good day, weatherwise, albeit a bit windy, but not as much as yesterday.

Just a quick check in to report NSD no. 5 yesterday and LTW no. 6. Went to work yesterday (3-11pm shift) so no opportunity to spend. Yippee!

Today is a spend your day though, weekly groceries, petrol, etc. lots household chores and gardening on the cards today, so I might not be online much.

  • Brunch in theonlygirl's household has just finished - French toast with golden syrup. Slightly naughty but very MSE because I used up the loaf of white bread in the fridge that was best before yesterday and the partially opened skimmed milk. I didn't use oil at all, just a very thin layer of butter on each side and voila the family's slightly indulgent all time favourite breakfast. Now off to shine my sink and fly clean the garden before I go out for my weekly shopping.

Today was a brunch of toast, marmite and banana, then stewed fruit, yogurt and wheatgerm.
I keep forgetting to add wheatgerm. It's so nice as well, sprinkled on top with fruit and yogurt.it's a good source of protein too.
    Today is #7.

Hi! I'd like to join please. I'm really bad at buying 'deals' for lunch and the occasional breakfast, and ooo, don't forget the vending machine, so this could help me make a real saving. I'd like to aim for 12 for the rest of June - give myself a few days leeway whilst I get in the habit. :)

This is exactly what i used to be like before i started this challenge. I used to spend about £10-£15 a DAY on lunches and snacks

    Good luck :)

My Lunch today was 2 pitta stuffed with salad and baby vine tomatoes. Oh my, they were so sweet and juicy!

I know, it was ridiculous! And i was moaning about being skint, LOL! I estimate i was blowing about £800 a month on food.

I have now got my food bills down to about £400 a month, and aim to get to down to £300.
  • Hi, I'm a little late to the party but can I join you all please? Some lush sounding lunch suggestions, I'm going to start by copying sandieb's yummy sounding pasta salad with mozzarella and tomatoes :) Also the cost of school lunches is horrendous so DD will also be joining the challenge (not that she knows it yet!)

Down by half, that's a great achievement. But £800 is mind boggling....
One step at a time will get you there though. ;)

    Hi Freyasmum! :hello:
