If your don't like the boxes then right click on them and un-pin from the menu

or simply restore it back to a 95/98 style by installing classic shell


you CANNOT unpin all the boxes to give you a plain wall paper and a simple menu , only some boxes

ok , you do it your way , I will do it my way , I have a hatred of mobile phones with stupid OSs on them , I prefer the "classic" style of menu , that I have been using since 1995

Its not about ways. Do as you like.
However dont post stuff as fact when it simply isnt true.

back to win8.1 for me , when i click on anything in my photos folder that window now freezes , w10 does not like my photos and videos for some reason

a link was given earlier on one of the postings , showing how you could revert back to windows picture viewer , and indeed revert back to using the older , but understood windows media player

almost all of the newer "apps" can be removed as default , even the using of edge as a pdf reader can be altered
