I've given up with Edge and am using Chrome with AdBlock Plus. Both free and seem to do the job well enough.

Edge is going to lose an awful lot of usage, isn't it, so long as Adblock isn't functional on it? ;)

Maybe they could create a Tesco block for you. ;)
  • Hello,
Sorry for jumping onto your thread but was wondering if all the updates for W10 have now been done? I have a Toshiba Satillite (don't ask me which model because I have no clue, its purple and is runnuing W8) I "reserved" my free download but nothing seems to have happened?
    Thanks

I've found a few have been delayed in getting the update. This appeared to be with people who switch on their computer, use it for a short while and then shut it down. The update finally came through after they just left it running on a few occasions, with the sleep timer set to something like an hour...

Aaah you being in norfolk and using a purple laptop then I feel you are going to have to wait...
According to the latest news from the popular press then Microsoft are running out their updates following the odd/even lettering system eg acegikmoqsuwy then bdfhjlnprtvxz
counties and then colours following red orange yellow green blue indigo violet. So unfortunately if you cannot shutdown your laptop and then look at the sticker underneath to see the model then you will not get an update until 2525

  • Victor2 - I'm normally on it for a couple of hours at a time as use it to watch Netflix and stuff and quite often just leave it on the side while I'm cooking dinner or something.

debitcardmayhem - the reason I cannot shutdown your laptop and then look at the sticker underneath to see the model is because I'm not on my laptop I'm at work and my laptop is at home and I've not yet developed the ability to transport myself home to check it, although it would be nice, especially at home time would save me a 20 - 30 min journey!! haha

You could always manually download it from here if you can't wait.

  • I have upgraded to win 10, but firstly i had to upgrade from 8 to 8.1.
W10 seems easier to use so far, a few funny glitches, overall seems more user friendly.
I'm not very techie, but 10 works for me.
