    Often a clean install will sort things out. Do you have any data that you wish to save?
    Is a clean install the same as a factory reset ? I have lots of Docs. Photos & programmes that I would not wish to lose. This is the type of techie process that really worries me if I tried it. I would probably mess it up as I do no know the first thing as to how to go about it !

    Yes. I think you said you had 2 computers; copy the files you want to preserve to the other computer (and 1 other place just to be sure).

    Docs and Photos can be stored elsewhere. Programs will have to be reinstalled.

    You need to have a copy of your photos and doc stored elsewhere...or you are asking for trouble.
