    Please read my update above....

That's weird, they never even replied to me and haven't replied to ecc or Greek aviation authority.

I've now had email from ecc saying its been referred to a German arbitration body. Have no idea what happens there and how it affects my claim as I've never agreed to the outcome or even it being sent to another body, must be something that happens re German consumer law and surprised it's not discussed on mse.

Adrian ... unless you can find someone to assist (and you are relatively confident re your claim) I strongly suggest using a no win no fee to end up with just over 70% of your entitlement.

Hello, Me and my wife were delayed over 4 hours on the skiathos to manchester leg.[july 2015]..We submitted Martins template and copies of booking reservations to Berlin office. They refused our claim via email almost immediately, I replied that we did not accept their explanation, but stated we were not unreasonable people and would be willing to discuss the compensation. Within 2 days we were offered 250 euros each, 500 euros total.. We accepted this offer as we had only paid £220 each for our flights. We filled in Germanias claim form at the beginning of august and receive the money in our account mid october..We are very happy..Hope this helps....:T

Well done. we put our claim for flight delay, over 4 hours Skiathos to Manchester 29 MAY 2015 into the hands of the UK ECC on 16 June but no resolution as yet ! todays email from ECC as follows =

"I am writing to provide you with an update on your claim against Germania.

I can confirm that our colleagues in the European Consumer Centre in Germany do not have an update from the ADR body.

There are currently no updates on your case. Our colleagues will endeavour to continue to handle your case with a view to obtaining an amicable resolution."

In other words, you are being ignored by the airline?
  • As you can see Vauban, same old, same old, we are still being ignored !

email from UK ECC 12 December 2015

I know - it must be really frustrating. But I tried to make the point earlier on in this thread that this avenue was unlikely to offer any resolution to your issue - if it worked, I'd have seen lots of folk trumpeting it. But they haven't so it doesn't. The ECC has no teeth, and I guess is just ignored by the airline.

If you are serious about getting your compensation (which you clearly deserve), take them to court. If Germania has no UK presence, you can use the ESCP process, which Dr. Watson champions on the Ryanair thread. Lots and lots of success stories there. Take a look and see.

    Hi Vauban
At last I can update you.
    :j

After ECC turned out to be, as you said, a waste of time we finally went to Bott & co in May. Germania finally caved in beginning of this month (after Bott had issued court papers, so they also had to pay to Bott £70 for each application). Now have received £190.99 each. Thanks for all your & everyone’s help.
