I've never been an advocate of people not claiming what they are entitled to ever .... But you with your dreadful numerous posts say this all the time and this can really affect the vulnerable and mentally ill - who look to this reputable site for advice and help and come across your posts - misleading, wrong and terrible
Hear Hear!:T :T. First time reading this post and apalled!0 -
Apologies MSE Megan just read your previous post
Disability, Help and Support, I think sounds good!0 -
Billywilly - sorry I've taken so long to get back to you.
My MIL & FIL have just had a specialist bathroom installed at £8k, most of it like the specially low shower in their concrete floor flat (nowhere to bury drainage), plus disabled shoewer seat and extra high toilet was dos ability related.
The have special chairs that tilt that are easier to get out of.
The both have walkers and one has a wheelchair.
If they added up all the costs and not just the weekly ones then I am certain they can justify it.0 -
billywilly wrote: »In a way I agree entirely with you. I am looking at the moral aspect.
If entitlement is the be all and end all, why then do people on this site berate others and myself when it is highlighted what their level of income is from all sources, pensions and benefits?
If I accept that society should accept that where entitlement exists, people should make use of it and claim everything what they can legally even though there is no justifiable reason to do so other than having an entitlement.
Currently we receive between us a total of approx £500 a week from various pensions and benefits. Being entitled to Attendance Allowance (at what ever rate is awarded) the system will push our weekly income up to over £700 a week. Morally wrong in my opinion, but in yours justified as there is entitlement.
Well, mate, as I have said to you before, in your various forum names, live by your moral stance, and write and tell the government you no longer wish to claim your retirement pension.
You are entitled to it, but as you point out, you have more money than you need coming in, so you can apply your very own means test to your circumstances.
Meanwhile, I am sure that those of us that are actually disabled fully understand the extra costs we have, and as you have been turned down for PIP, as not actually being disabled enough to warrant it, it really is now something you don't need to argue about.
Finally, as you are such a moral chap, perhaps you could apply some of that morality to not continually trashing threads, and upsetting some vulnerable posters who don't know what a persistent troll you are?
Lin :wall:You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

It would be quite helpful that instead of just saying that, maybe people could give a breakdown on what these extra costs are. To me they are quite mythical. I had DLA HRM & MRC for 19 years and have to admit that I would be hard pushed to account for what those extra costs were on current rates of £110 a week.
I use it for therapy and taxis when I know im not safe enough to drive, as well as giving my friend some money to help with my shopping, cleaning, washing etc.
So I use my PIP for what it is meant for0 -
Change it please.0
