What complete and utter baloney from Mr. Hurley.
70% of tickets that are cancelled at that stage are done so on the basis of mitigating circumstances

    1) I highly doubt that

    2) 70% of what? Even if (being generous) 10% of tickets are cancelled at first appeal to PPC, that still only 7% of tickets.

    3) And the IPC appeals process is laughable

And I liked how Ann had him down as Gamekeeper and Poacher. :D

Seemed to squirm a bit, what was the PPC featured and do they normally have such deep voices?

I heard that bit .... re wound back (just an oldie phrase ...how do you re wind digital things/)

he seamed to say that of the appeals to the IPA 70 % where allowed on mitigating circumstances ..... which may be right .... allow a few through so as not to allow a precedent ? or am I seeing it wrong? look back at a some of the surprise wins ......

Even some one as thick as my self would have picked holes in his statements:eek:

Anyone hazard a guess as to who the PPC is where the undercover reporter was working?

I think I saw a PE NtK just before they crossed to the undercover part. Deafeningly silent on naming and shaming - unlike the aerial man who clearly wouldn't have the wonga backup to take Watchdog through any legal process!

Troy might be regretting not taking part.

Even he might have come out on top in comparison with the supercilious little slimeball

As usual he trotted out the old excuse that it's all the fault of the motorist and if it wasn't for the wonderful PPCs the whole world would descend into chaos.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I think the underlying (note the third and fourth syllables of my preceding word) point was relating to appeals to the actual PPCs (not the IAS - as we well know) - of all appeals allowed, 70% were based on mitigating circumstances.

Don't forget that 70% of the square root of FA, is (drum roll) - FA. Lies, damned lies and statistics!

Dunno but Anne seemed to indicate it was one of Hurley's members

They should have asked how many actual tickets 70% represented. And if he said he didn't know then the question would be "Well how do you know it's 70%"?
