    It often is hereditary :(

We don't have a bath in either of the houses we have at the moment (one of them will be for sale in the near future :) ).

Ah, interesting, I thought as such (it being hereditary).

    I don't think I'd miss a bath tbh, I much prefer showers.

Occasionally I have found that literally a couple of glasses of wine make me feel very refreshed the next morning. (I don't drink very often, but am happy to increase my G & T intake for the quinine :D)

Never tried magnesium! I didn't even know I had it until DH told me!

SDW - could you try the 5:2 and do what I do - overeat 5 days a week and fast for the others? :D

I don't have sleep problems except finding it hard to get up but when I was younger and used to drink quite a lot I never got a hangover and woke up feeling bright a breezy and it was a lot easier to get up,always wondered why.

I have days were I only get say 5-6 hrs sleep and I am awake early and get up and do stuff. And feel great. It must be some quality sleep. As other days I get 7-8hrs of sleep and feel like poo!!!!

I am getting better and getting up earlier. I have been getting out the door for my morning walk anytime between 6.30-8.00am!!!

A few weeks ago I could hardly wake up and drag myself out of bed by noon!!!!

I do feel shattered after my walk and my ankles are feeling a bit tight first thing in the morning. But I do like the time out and about on my own.

Towards the end of the walk I walk past a pond that has been created at the top of the by pass. And I saw a heron the other morning. And I get to walk across a couple of fields. And a few days ago saw a buzzard. And I get to hear all the birds sing.

    So lovely

Mind you for some reason on friday I did not go for my walk until the evening and I got caught in the rain. came home soaked :D never mind. Straight in the shower.

Calley Do you enjoy walking?how do you motivate yourself? I am out of work and really should exercise but the gym is my worst nightmare and can't see the point of walking just for the sake of it.

I think a pet would be a very good idea. You probably need to consider your mum's lifestyle when deciding on a dog or cat. If your mum goes out and about to a lot of places you can't take a dog then best to get a cat. Having said that, there's a very social aspect to being a dog owner as you meet other dog walkers and other dogs. I know loads of people in the area now despite spending very little time there.

As for bathing, it depends on the dog. DA dog is only bathed 3 or 4 times a year when he goes for his groom (long haired dog). We only give him a bath at home when he's rolled in something nasty. He has been bathed in the bath, in the shower and with buckets of warm water or a watering can outside. Some dogs like the bath. Dogs do need brushing though. DA dog really enjoys being brushed and I like doing it as its a good bonding experience.

I do like cats a lot but definitely more of a dog person.

I do enjoy walking and like you see little point in any exercise for the sake of it.

its only in the last few weeks that I have been going out virtually everyday including weekends. On sunday I was out the door by 7.30 and went for a longer walk that took an hour and half to do. Rather than the hour walk I do.

I have found that if I get up and do it first thing in the morning I will do it. if I say I will got out and lunch time or the evening it never happens. As like most people we end up doing other stuff.

Also I can't be out in the sun so best to get out in the morning before it gets to hot and too many people around. Also I walk in to town to meet for coffee or run errands so no choice. I could catch the bus back but normally don't have any change.

I do have a bike that I should use more to nip in to town. Need to check I have the keys for my bike lock. And then I can cycle in to town as I do have basket on the front as well.

Hey Pyxis. I'm feeling very proud of myself. Someone senior tried to pass the blame onto me for something at work and I stood up for myself and didn't allow it. Go me.

I have also lost another 3lbs as of yesterday (we'll ignore the 2lbs that I gained the week before that) and the jeans that I am wearing today which are supposed to be superskinny are no longer superskinny. They're not even skinny! They're actually a bit baggy :j

    How are you?
