Meant to say, WaS, are you feeling brave enough to venture into a 24 hour supermarket at some point, if the weather isn't good enough for an outside trip?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. That is actually a plan I had, whitewing! As I keep saying I love Christmas but every year I miss walking around the shops and buying silly little decorations and food stuffs. It used to be one of my favourite parts. This year I determined to do it, even if it is at 4am!

Maybe all the oxygen they pump into the casinos would revive mil? Maybe you could go slowly and take lots of sitting breaks between destinations?
.
Of course you can come too! It's one of my most favourite places, it's awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone!
The first time we went we went on a West Coast trip, and I was most looking forward to Palm Springs/LA and San Fran, Las Vegas was my least favourite place on the itinary....well it was until we got there! I too thought I wouldn't enjoy it because it was all gambling, and I just wasn't interested in that at all (although I do like a few goes on the Wheel of Fortune machines!), but it's so much more than that. The hotels are attractions in themselves and there's so much to do. I reckon the majority of people who go don't even gamble much at all if anything.
I get bored so easy too code, but you haven't really got time to get bored in Vegas. I'm not really a beach person at all, although if you want to do that you can as Mandalay Bay has a beach!
There's plenty of eateries and places to stop for a drink, so like you say we could work our way down the strip in stages. Its more the walking you have to do inside the hotels, but I'm sure there's ways and means.0 -

Hey pyxis, you can cross my Sunday out (unless I get to vote for this coming Sunday too - that's any idea!)
I got all excited until I saw Katy's post-midnight post. Can't wait to know Threadbaby/escapee has arrived safely.
I went shopping today (for Christmas presents). DS has asked for jeans and I got 2 bargain pairs so I am pleased.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Georgie, I say go for it! Never mind the maybes/what ifs! As you say, it may be her last chance.
7 days might be good, though, so she can get over jet lag and maybe have a complete rest day in the middle, relaxing by a pool etc.
Re. The motorised options, she may say no now, but when she's there and sees other, probably younger people using them, and if she's tired but wants to see things, she may well relent, especially if you call them buggies and scooters!
TWaves_and_Smiles wrote: »I agree Georgie, go for it! It sounds like a wonderful idea! My american friend has been trying to drag me to Vegas for years, she lives in the Bay Area so it isn't that far. She tells me that people are so diverse there that no one would bat an eyelid at a blanket!
!
I'm of the same thinking as both of you, I say go for it! I'm abit more of "yay let's do it, what will be will be!" Seize the moment kind of attitude, whereas D is abit more "what about this? What about that? and then talks himself out of doing things....I'm trying to get him to be abit more go getting and impulsive!I know I worry about things (the wedding for example), but for experiences in life, I say go for it! As my Dad always said, "it is what it is, why worry!", and to take it step by step, see how it goes. I think it'll come down to if the MIL thinks she can manage it.
I'm thinking 7 days would be better too Pyxis, purely because of the jet lag and all the travelling.
WaS, how awesome would that be if you went over?! Your friend is right, No one would bat an eyelid at your blanket.0 -

*sigh* Sent a text to mum asking her not to come around this afternoon. (I wanted to go out) I then get a text telling me she's on her way. It would have been nice to have been given some bloody warning.
Really not happy.
I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen next week. Both parents know by now (because I have thrown a tantrum over the lack of warning before / change in plan with no warning) that I need more than 5 minutes warning.Sealed pot challenge #232.
