code - best phrase I ever learnt was in French - "Great Snakes! I think I saw a lion.". My sister had a Tintin French learning book and it had the most useless phrases in ever.

    Love this flybaby :)

    Morning everyone.

Hope you are feeling better MU, and that the bananas are doing their thing WaS.

I'm so envious of all the pretty dresses! I've not been to many weddings and ours was pretty different as we refused to have all the bits we didn't like about traditional weddings. Got two family weddings coming up this year though that are quite traditional so will have to think about dresses at some point. Dreading it!!

How are you getting on Flybaby?

Hope you are still lurking and doing OK Calley.

Thanks for doing the escapee poll Pyxis, gives me something to look forward to!

Gitdog sounds like he is being a model citizen at the moment Elsien, be suspicious! Little Sod spent the day with his friend a chocolate lab yesterday. We took them a walk together and then they spent the afternoon causing mischief whilst we played board games. They get on far too well and have started teaming up against the humans with their plots and schemes.

I'm being sulky today as it is throwing it down and was planning on getting the last of the wood chopped and stored. Think we are going to go out for lunch instead, if I ever get up!

It's a bit ironic that it's a bank holiday in England and there are weather warnings of severe rain and it's not a bank holiday in Scotland and it's sunny and warm. Got my washing out.

Georgie it's probably too late to order another dress as the wedding is on Saturday. It'll be ok, it's not like I'm the bride and I might like it again by then.

Katy - are you heavily pregnant and chopping wood? That's impressive! I recommend the lindy bop site for dresses. They're pretty and not too expensive.

Flybaby, I think you may win the most useless phrase in a foreign language award!

Afm, last night I had the full range of rubbish side effects from full body jerking ( sdw - I totally sympathise with your restless legs as it's impossible to fall asleep when every time you drift off, you jerk awake ) to racing heart. I eventually took some tramadol in the hope that the opiates might relax me enough to sleep. I also had a massive panic about money until I realised that I was doing my sums wrong and do have enough money to eat this month. In pain today which is rubbish.

Hey code - what is the full body jerking thing? I am always asked if I have restless legs but I don't, but I do sometimes have whole body jerks when I am laying down and wake up with heart racing, but I assumed that was from the nightmares.

Grande Sapriste - Great Snakes! (That's all I can remember at the moment) My sister and I still call each other that sometimes and all I can remember is this holiday where we were driving all over france int he back of my dad's car with me and my sister giggling over this book which was the size of yellow pages and all tin tin cartoons in French and English. We used to go into the shops etc and see if we could use the phrases.

Katy - I am bumbling along......good days and bad days.......I seem to be doing three or four days of hard physical labour in the garden and then literally laying down for three days to recover. I was disappointed with myself for not getting back into a good routine of getting simple things done like getting up washing and brushing teeth, but someone pointed out that I am getting other stuff done and I should be less hard on myself. I suppose they are right, but I know I am not functioning "normally" , which is what I want to get back to, so feel carp about it sometimes. Not sure if my increased anxiety medication is starting to kick in and I am actually feeling a little bit better in myself - fingers crossed. Really bad week or two for sleep so hard to tell.
But I figure some good days is an improvement on February when it was all bad days.
I do read along even if I don't post all the time and hearing about how everyone is getting along and what everyone is doing is lovely.

  • D and I have been thinking, we might go to Vegas again this year (originally planning to go next year) so we can take his Mam for her 80th birthday. She's always wanted to go ever since we started going, and this probably is her last chance to go as she is getting quite bad on her feet.

I'd been thinking about suggesting it for a while, but didn't want to suggest it incase he thought it was maybe too much for her, or incase something else had already been arranged, but it turns out D had been thinking along the same lines too.

I mentioned (at the wedding) how I thought his Mam was getting worse on her feet and he agreed and said how he'd been thinking about taking her to Vegas before she can't physically make it anymore. I said how I'd been thinking the same, and we agreed to look into it. D will have to see how many days holiday he's got left and we'll have to see of maybe doing 5 nights instead of 7 as 7 might be too much for her?

D's expressed his concern about how much walking there is to do though (and believe me, there is,) not just between hotels (could get a cab for that) but also once you're in the Casinos themselves and to the shopping centres inside the hotels, and I have to agree with him, it is a big concern, but like I said, when is she ever gonna get the chance to do this again?

We'll have to do a lot of weighing up of the pros and cons, but I really hope it comes off, as not only is it a trip of a lifetime for her, I now really want to go to Vegas again :D I also think it'll be exciting to see a new person seeing the sights and sounds of Vegas for the first time IYSWIM?
