Hello all and hello MR3 - it's my birthday today too so we are birthday twins! I know nothing about the syndrome your son has - can I ask about it or would you rather not talk about it?
So, me ok - plodding along - bit meh - c'est la vie and all that. I am not a big birthday fan and have been struggling with everyone keep asking me what I want to do for my birthday when all I want is to be left alone. I was hoping to go outside and play with all my lovely new birthday gift power tools but just as I ran the power cord outside it started to rain - poo-bar!
Have had to catch up on thread and can't remember who said what - but I can completely concur with the magic hammer theory - one of my rules of life is that "there is no problem that cannot be solved with a suitable application of force" (said tounge in cheek) - cannot tell you the amount of times I have solved a problem with a hammer! I think it was Calley who said her granddad used hammer, then blow torch - he sounds awesome!!
Squishes to all - {squish}
Happy birthday
I don't mind you asking at all but I think ATM as I'm with him all the time while no school I feel I'm just seeing all the negative and difficulties such as the 4am wake up, the frustrated screaming and the nappy leaks...ask me on 4th September when I can drink a coffee hot and in peace lol
Sorry you didn't get to play with your tools...I just went to order something with my birthday money and its out of stock grr....been eyeing up some vans with cats on since I saw messed ups hello kitty ones on here Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
Happy birthday Flybaby! What tools did you get?
Just took Little Sod out again and now bouncing on my ball. Don't want escapee to arrive before she is ready, but don't mind giving her a hand if she is ready!0 -
Hey guys.
Taking the varnish off a chair didn't work. Will try again tomorrow.
It's the PPE - I need something stronger than those thin, little, blue, nitrile gloves. I need PVC gauntlets.
Got them now.
I have gymmed. :T
I went back to the gym, spent 30 minutes on a treadmill and 10 on a seated cycle.
I did feel a little giddy, but nothing like as bad as even a few weeks ago.
I've booked classes for the next few days too.
I've had an enema for a procedure.
Penguin follows
As well as taking lofepramine for depression, I was taking NSAIDs for an RSI, when I started getting alarming symptoms which I took myself to the doctor for.
Bit of back story - a noted side effect of lofepramine is constipation. Very. Bad. Constipation.
Any drug which has "anticholinergic effects" tend to cause the mucous membranes to dry up and cause the smooth muscle (like bowel muscle) to stop working very well.
He referred me to an endoscopy clinic and I followed the instructions and duly went for my appointment.
On arriving, I was given an enema. Which shifted an awful lot of lofepramine induced constipation.
The colonoscopy was only just successful, as, even though I followed the pre-op instructions, the lofepramine had, inevitably caused problems.
The problem was spotted, NSAID induced inflammation, the endoscopy team finished up and I was released into the wild with a recommendation to stop taking NSAIDs.
But I didn't leave the hospital. :embarasse
Pre-op, I was told that the colonoscopy was "just a tube" with "a light and a camera" which would be gently shoved up my colon to have a look and see what the problem was.
And. The. Rest.
The tube wasn't particularly large, however, in addition to the light and the camera, it also included a water blowy outy tube to clear the path for the endoscopy tube, an air blowy outy tube to blow the gut wall away from the camera to allow it to focus properly and a sucky uppy tube to get as much of the water, air and, um, other stuff away from the field of vision.
So on my release, I ended up in a toilet cubicle. For about a half an hour. I made some very strange smells and noises.
I made it out of the Endoscopy Unit onto the main corridor and found another toilet where I spent another half hour or so. Making more smells and noises.
I found a WRVS kiosk, bought a drink as I was parched and then went back to the toilet for about another half an hour. More smells and more noises.
The problem was the pumped in air fighting to get out and bringing stuff with it. _pale_ Like farts. With extras.
Even though the endoscopy was quite early in the morning, it was late afternoon before I got out of there. :embarasse
Going for some more cross stitch for now. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Happy birthday to MR3 and Flybaby!xxxxx
Hugs and squishes to all.
I had a very eventful day which involved over 7 hours' travel. I may have spent rather a lot of money on a musical instrumentEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
