Well, I don't know for sure, but I read/heard somewhere that dog food is actually made to be fit for human consumption, just in case people decide to eat it!

I tried some once, a tiny bit, as it smelled so yummy!

It was extremely bland, because of course there was no salt in it, no herbs etc. and the texture wasn't good.

Great minds, and all that. :D

It used to be a standing joke in our house that whenever Nan visited, so would the tin of peaches and tin of salmon. Which we'd return next time we visited, ready for her to pass onto the next lot of relatives.

That was Sunday tea in the sixties! Salad with tinned salmon and bread and butter, followed by tinned peaches and probably custard! :rotfl:

All washed down with tea properly made in a pot, and on a table covered with a tablecloth and place mats. And napkins!

Do you know, I never had Carnation milk! Dunno why!

If there was an unopened bottle of milk, sometimes would have the cream off the top of it!

I was talking to my mum the other day about babies and milk. And she said that me and my older brother had either condensed or evaporated milk water down as no powdered baby milk

Surprised I got any teeth left :rotfl:

Later than the 60s too, as I wasn't born until 1969 and I remember all of that. And the Carnation 'evap', which as well as going with the tinned peaches, my gran on my mum's side had in her tea instead of normal milk . She also had something called "Camp coffee" which I never tried.

Bulls milk in their house (sterilised milk, for anyone who's wondering about the biology) - vile stuff on cereals in the morning.

Edit - that's not such a bad mixture, WaS - it could have been an awful lot worse.

I was born in the 70's and even up to my mid to late teens on saturday when up my grans we had tinned salmon sandwiches with the bones mashed in.

Makes me gag and has put me right off tinned salmon :rotfl:
