DS1 saved the day! Hubby came from work absolutely shattered and said he couldn't possibly cook the evening dinner. I was in the middle of the ironing and I was determined to finish it tonight so it wouldn't eat time for my long list of things to do tomorrow. Hubby said we'll just get a Chinese take away. I was horrified! Not another take away when we have been doing so well with the NSD Counts! So DS1 volunteered to cook spag Bol. Everything he used were value items from Aldee and my calculations tell me the meal cost less than £3. (He used tuna instead of minced meat as the main ingredient of his sauce). It was rather nice and plenty of left over for tomorrow's packed lunch.

NSD no.12 today! Proud momma here!

Well done to DS1 never thought of using tuna instead of mince (OH is veggie so I don't often do spag bog these days) :T

  • Thanks kerri gt. It's unusual but yummy. I'm just pleased DS1 was willing to step up to the plate saving us at least £30.

Just as well that I didn't declare today already,as I ended up spending money on one SH dvd and five books.

And hurtling round the bend to cross the finish line is....NSD number 12!!!

Igor, stop mooning over Tatty Wotserface, Mrs Doyle needs to measure her up for her wedding dress, and Knitwitch has agreed to knit your wedding suit so needs your decision on what colour waistcoat and tie you want.....Chef is buying in vanloads of dried fruit for the cake, and Mrs Doyle has given me the list of ingredients for the cupcakes.....Yes, flour, sugar, eight dozen eggs....eight dozen????!!! Oh well, Hubert! Go outside and threaten the chickens, will you, there's a good chap....

(Scene: Ennessdee Towers in the sunset. All is calm except for the sound of a flock of chickens marching out of the gates, each one carrying their worldly possessions tied up in a red spotted hanky)

Well that has well and truly done it! Where the hell are we going to get eighty dozen eggs from for Mrs Doyle's cupcakes? Not to mention Chef's wedding cake...ooops! I just mentioned it.
What's that Igor? You know a man who can get all the eggs we need? And what man is this, may I ask? Bert Scroggins? So, he's into chicken rustling now, is he?

Somehow I think, call me suspicious if you want, but not being cynical, like....this is going to end in tears. ( Or should that be tiers, as we're talking cake?)
