Hi all, didn't manage to post last night and this morning because I think gremlins were at work. Lost 3 posts I think. Anyways, keeping my fingers crossed that this one would go through.

Sunday as a big spendy day. £100 on food and housekeeping agents needed replacing/topping up. Still within budget and managed to get a lot of food and vegetable in very good prices. For example, a kilo of cherry tomatoes for 60p, a box of salad tomatoes for £2 which was split with my friend and neighbour. A sack of onions for £3, also split with my friend. Half of my share was peeled and chopped and divided into 12 individual cooking portions and deep frozen. (My first time to try this method, I the hope of preventing them from sprouting). My freezer smelt of onions for the first half hour but as soon as they are frozen they don't smell anymore.

Yesterday would have been a NSD but hubby remembered at the last minute that it was his parents' golden wedding anniversary. They live abroad and we can't afford to fly over to celebrate with them. We went to Nando's instead to celebrate and had Krispy Kreme for dessert. It was very low key but we really didn't want to overspend. A few years ago we wouldn't bat an eyelid even if we spent £100. Times have changed and we hope we are going the right direction.

Today was NSD no 6 and LTW no. 9. Hubby is happy to prepare dinner and I am allowed to put my feet up.

Hurray! NSD5 for me. I filled the gas tank today, but have decided that that was a necessity, as tomorrow dh and I are swapping cars and the car would have been stranded haldway to his work place. If it had been just for me, I could have driven two more days.

Better not tell Hubert what I've bought 4 pairs of, this weekend......

Another lovely NSD brings my total to 5.

Many thanks to my fellow NSD gangsters who went beyond the call of duty to save my beloved shoe collection......hate to say this, but I have gone off Spongebob Squarepants shoes, wellies, boots etc. You may all share them out between you, but keep them away from the resident donkey, he just does not look after shoes properly. I have decided to follow Hubert's example and go for sequins and sparkly jewels as a theme. So, the Nargle slush fund has been raided and I have the following: one pair of purple sequinned stilettos, one pair of faux leopard skin wellies with diamante trim around the tops, one pair of strappy sandals in lime green leather studded with peridots, and my piece de resistance - fluffy pink slippers with sequinned pompoms.
That will do for starters......the diamond studded Chimmy Jews will have to wait till I get my winnings from Igor and Hubert's next race.

NSD3 for me. That's three in a row and I didn't even have an "in a row" target! Hopefully might bag another tomorrow....

Oh dear - another spendy day :o

Ended yesterday ordering 5 DVDs (2 sets each with 3 films, 1 with 2 films and 2 single films) for a total of £6.43 including postage.

Also noted that there seemed to be quite a few more with prices dropping...

I'm not sure if it's silly season for trying to get rid of second hand DVDs or if there's another seller using a bot to reduce to match/beat lowest, but I've got up this morning to a few more either under, at, or very close to my watch point !! I've already ordered one (a film I've wanted for years but never got around to buying - it had hit lowest possible so decided it was time to get), and am only watching another ten......
