I wonder if Peter advocates single or double ply tin foil for his hat?

Fascinating piece about this outfit (and a very interesting interview with 'Peter of England', the 'founder of WeRe bank') on today's You and Yours (BBC Radio 4).

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0783lmy

    [28 minutes in]

When asked why he won't accept membership subscriptions in Re, he says that it's because he has "conventional bills" to pay and he can't pay them in Re because they have "discretion as to whether they will [accept Re] or not".

Of course, when a customer can't pay their bills in Re it's because they are being scammed by the high street banks and the Bank of England.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

He isn't an idiot if he managed to spread this scam over many countries without breaking any laws, isn't afraid of giving interviews, and it takes FOS several pathetic pages to explain why banks can refuse to accept their cheques.

Certainly agree there. I particularly liked this exchange:

Shari Vahl, BBC: "So how does it work"?

Peter of England: "......will make this interview the easiest ever interview that's been broadcast on BBC radio......"

What followed was almost incomprehensible without some knowledge of what's going on here.

But what's particularly worrying is all the promissory notes that have been signed in favour of We're Bank. Nobody knows as yet where that particular road will lead, but I wouldn't care to be on it.
