Is their boiler old/inefficient ? Yes it was - it was 12 years old

Is anyone in the household receiving a qualifying benefit ? Yes there is

Is the total of household income below £16,010 ? This question was never considered even though we supplied evidence that our annual income far exceeds that figure.

dazed.gif but you're not the OP though are you ?....and to be perfectly honest with you, I'm not too sure that the statements you make, are even truthful...

  • Hi All,
First post today, I qualify for a new boiler under the gov. scheme, sadly they only do gas not oil,
is this fair? I do live outside of the range of the gas main so have to have oil, just wanted to know anyone's thoughts, I am feeling rather disgruntled about it, am I right??

As people have said the 'free' boiler can work out dearer than getting in your own supplier, as the companies quote high prices and charge for extras. Also, if you are given a low quality boiler, you could end up replacing it within a few years, with no grant to help, so, perhaps, you aren't missing much.
