What would you do?

My co-worker came to my home yesterday to pick up some documents which were needed for a meeting today and to cut a long story short I'm a bit bewildered.

I called work as soon as I realised that the documents were still in my bag and he said he would come over as I'm on annual break until next Tuesday.

Anyway he asked if he could use my toilet and I said yes. I went into the kitchen to make him a hot drink and I heard water running above my head, which was strange as I have a downstairs toilet. So I went to find out why the water was on upstairs and to my surprise he was in there having a shower.

The door wasn't open, but I heard him and I was so shocked I just crept back downstairs to the kitchen. When he came down I wanted to ask him what he was playing at, but the words wouldn't come out as my mind was all over the place.

When he left I went upstairs and the cheeky cow pat had used my towel and my bath crème which I hadn't even used yet.

Should I say something on Tuesday or should I keep quite? I feel stupid not being able to say something at the said time.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

Yes I would definitely ask what he thought he was playing at. That's overstepping the line a fair bit. It would be different if you were friends and he had asked to use your shower for a freshen up, but the situation you describe is just strange.

If you weren't a regular poster, I'd have written this post off as a troll! I can't believe people actually behave like this!

How close are you to said co-worker? Personally, I'd want to have a word with him to find out what the hell he was thinking! I'd go along with the words "if I knew you'd needed a shower, I'd have put some clean towels out! Why did you use my shower without asking, bit weird isn't it? Do you do that in everybody's house?"

    OMG what odd behaviour. :rotfl:

    That IS strange.

So this guy is just a colleague, not a really close pal???

Even so, I would not even go to a friend's house - ANY friend - and just help myself to a shower without asking!!!

My husband's friend visited us a year or so ago and stayed overnight, en route to his family in Scotland, and he asked if he could have a shower as he was really hot and felt grotty. We said of course, (as he did ask!!!) and we gave him a clean towel, which went in the wash straight away.

But for this random colleague to hop in your shower??? Whaaaaat? Who would DO that without asking. And he used one of your towels too??? Ewwwwww.

    Just weird.

    I can't believe it. :rotfl:

(I do believe you though Yvonne. :) )

Do you say anything??? I honestly do not know!!! I mean, what the heck can you say? I wouldn't let him into my house again though!!!

Maybe he soiled himself and was too embarrassed to tell you so just washed himself off?

    Absolute cheek.

I would invite him round again but replace the tank of hot water with sulphuric acid.

So what did you talk about while he drank his hot drink? The shower incident must have been a bit of an elephant in the room.
Could he be homeless/living in his car and not able to shower anywhere else?
Just had a thought - did you check if your toothbrush was damp? he might have used that too

Do you have an electric shower? You know, one of those that gets really hot when you run a cold tap elsewhere in the house? Be terrible if he was having to hop in and out because it's not like you knew he'd be in the shower...

seriously, I would say something. I'd pitch it is "by the way, I know what my shower sounds like, if you wanted to use it you should have just asked. I'd have got you a clean towel."
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
