We use Nanny and Nana for the older generation of women in our family. (They are not paid and do not have anything in common with goats).
Nanny get my vote every time.
For quite a long time my FIL was called Umpa by my eldest daughter. Now it's just Grandpa.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

we used to call our gran baboo (short for the eastern european bubi) because one of the other kids did and the grownups thought it was cute.0 -
I am a Grandmother of 3 (I am 45). The children call me Nana, or if their other Nana is around Nana Jack. My family are from the Northeast...I think that is where the name Nana originated.0

When I was growing up, I had Nanny & Pop and Mother & Father.
When my children were growing up they had Granny & Grandad-Bus (coach driver) and Nanny-Louie & Grandad.
When my daughter was pregnant, I was wondered what on earth I wanted to be called but didn't want anything 'too old sounding'. I decided to leave it until my granddaughter started to talk and see just what came easily to her! The little darling - I became Narnie!!!
I don't know of any other Narnie's - so I guess it makes me unique.0
