Any reviews on Apple Imac?

Well I am now 70 and have been using Macs since my Commodore 64 went kaput many years ago.
They are much easier to use for normal tasks and should you want to play with photos you can get an old version of Photoshop for free.
They are more expensive but in my experience you save as they last longer. Doing this on my 2008 Macbook which still works faultlessly.
The only question I would ask is should I look at a Macbook instead of an iMac?
Plus I bought from the Applestore UK refurbished site. Full warranty and product same as a new one, may not be the latest model.0 -
If you buy a mac, then everything you have learnt so far in using your PC becomes useless.
That's something to consider.
IMO Macs are for showoffs who have more money than sense and just want the latest shiny.
Oh, and art students and the odd music producer ..0 -

What utter rubbish!
It's a windows, icon mouse system just like.......well a PC
There are buttons to open close and resize them.........just like a PC
The operating system is intuitive to use.......just like a PC
If you can use one you can use the other and both have their pros and cons and those depend on what you want them for.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
I would love to have an iMac. But I cannot afford one.
So if your husband can afford one. Go for it.
It will be easier than the Windows. And less worry.
Trust me.
Just take iPhone for an example. So easy to use compared to Samsung.0 -

Not true at all.
That is like saying driving a car, and flying a plane is the same, because they both have seats and steering wheels.
All the options are in different places, there is no right click.
If someone in their senior years (no offence) has taken the time to learn to use a pc, and are used to how it all works, and where everything is, then they will need to re-learn that stuff if they buy a mac.
Yes, it still has a screen, and a pointy thing that you move with your hand, but the UI is completely different .. And the OP will need to re-buy any software they have bought (pirated)0 -

My parting comment : Apple is overpriced shiny crap

Yes there is right click! Where on earth did you get the idea there isn't?
The options are in either via right click, like the PC or in the menu bar at the top, like the PC
Yes, you need Mac software, you can even get MS office or even better Libre Office, free on both platforms. Even if you were to buy the Mac Word processor and spreadsheet that are MS compatible it wouldn't be like buying Office as the are £14.99 each.
I have both and they are so alike I never get confused as to which one I'm using. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
I've been an Apple fan since the day the IT adviser brought one into to school and was mobbed by teachers wanting to try it, with icons showing clearly what to do.
My 86 year old neighbour uses her iPad daily. It's so easy. I've just bought a MacBook Air, only because my printer died and new one won't sync with 2005 iMac.
Macs are so easy and updates are free.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
