( Insurance have come back to us; as we suspected, car is written off. I've told him he can sort out obtaining replacement, he doesn't need me to hold his hand to do it, my only condition is that it mustn't be red.

You share my attitude and colour taste regarding cars...........

We've abandoned idea of new car in favour of (even more boring) new windows. Had surveyor round this morning; was a good quote till H&S reared its ugly head and it was decided they need scaffolding which will be an extra £1K  Maybe a bit less if we can take the roof panels off the conservatory with relative ease, then they will only scaffold the front. Grumble grumble the garden is only just recovering after scaffolding for the solar panels a year ago and house painting last Oct.

Other than that, I've been to mobile library to hear that owing to cuts, the service is being closed in Oct. Real shame for me, the village and the lovely staff who run the service and haven't yet been told what their job options are.

I've moved into garden flying and pulled out millions more bluebells complete with the world's greatest quantity of slugs and snails. My worry is, without bluebell leaves where will they go next? We have 2 beautiful lilac coloured bluebells, odd!

I've also taken another assessment booking. Wonder if I can talk down the amount of work I said I'd be up for when I go to the interview........

    *furious*

OH went to Squeaks sports day today and she sat on the grass for 2 HOURS and got to throw 1 beanbag at the very end!! Others had 8 or 9 stickers for being in races.. she has none! .. They are going to wish they had not messed with the master of fury !! And if I don't like their answers I shall go speak to the head.

I got home from nail shop to a letter with a court date.. bring it on WC (whomper-c***) let's see how your violence and abuse goes down in front of a judge.. let's see you stop my sisters and mother and other children putting in a word! .. That's before we get to his ex-prostitute sex offending trollop... BRING... IT... ON! I don't need to lie, the truth is disgusting enough.

LW - sorry to hear about the car and hope you soon find a nice new (non-red) one that suits you both.
He'll get another Jazz; we can get the wheelchair in easily without removing the wheels; I can get in and out with minimal assistance (unlike the horrible loan car he's got at the moment, where the seat is so low that I need craning out); and they're easy enough for me to drive, assuming I ever get my nerve back. He's going to see the dealer in Northampton tomorrow - he's got to give the loan car back now that the insurance money is here, so he's going to choose what to buy as a permanent replacement, and negotiate to get the H0nda place to loan him a car in the meanwhile, iyswim. We've been customers of theirs for years - they used to be V0lvo dealers, and I used their branch in Stratford-on-Avon before I even met Mr LW (I used to have my own car); so we have between us a very long history as loyal customers.

Cuppa first.. I am use to neither man nor beast at the moment!
I'm no use to man nor beast at any time.... I'm just awfully good at bluffing.;)

I'm afraid I'm still doing only what's needed for hygiene purposes; I'm very tired (probably stress-induced) and tbh, I'd sooner devote the time and energy to Pippa while she's here.

    Enjoy your break biccymonster x

Operation spare room has commenced! The old blind / curtain is down, bookcase and drawers out, everything put away. Just need a different screwdriver to remove the headboard then I'll pop the bed in DD room for now.

Kids have gone home with gramps (who put up the new blind for my own room :A and it looks so much nicer) so I'm on decorating duty until Sunday afternoon:)

Tonight is prep work and possibly painting the cupboard doors if I have time. Need to find some filler as there are holes everywhere:)

Right, off i go to the garage for supplies. Might go via the kitchen and pop a frozen curry in the oven!

    Hi all

I have given up. Officially. There is no flying being done here, the house is a tip and there are enough crumbs on this desk to feed a family for a week. Not even sure where the crumbs came from.

I may need some alcohol this evening, will start again tomorrow.

YL.. that's the good thing.. you can start again tomorrow.. or Monday! I regularly try calling the birds in to pick up crumbs! I sometimes wish I was Snow White so I could have forest critters come clean up.

My landing is now formally known as 'the stock room' ....

I'm with you on the alcohol - we'll just class it as "decluttering" shall we?;)

Pippa just showed me up - barking defiance at a passing GSD.:embarasse Still, we're home now; she's had her Kong filled with sausages, and I think I might do something easy like egg fried rice for dins.:o

    creeps in quietly..

So sorry I have been MIA this week...unfortunately the cold I thought I was developing turned into something a bit more.. and I feel bloody carpe!! I have had no voice since Monday and an awful throat and cough since then too. I've also had to let my nieces down by not taking them to school yesterday and today, and I felt awful about this. But I was just not up to driving anywhere. Actually I stayed in bed all day yesterday and best part of today.. and I still feel no better.

House looks a mess, I can't be !!!!!d to cook tonight as I feel too rough to do it so I think we are going to have to have fish and chips, well I'll have fish and DH can have fish and chips!!

Think I might have to give in and ring the Dr's on Monday to see if I need antibiotics due to having an infection... I'm being very careful because I don't want it to develop into pneumonia as I'm prone to that now..

Good news, Scruffy the dog is so much better and off his antibiotics and back on proper dog food. You wouldn't have known he had been ill well apart from his weight loss.. He's back to being so perky, chipper and a cheeky dog again.

Wendy I felt the earthquake too this morning, this far in Kent (Sittingbourne). Although I did think maybe it was Shoeburyness doing their target practice again...or I was delirious. But now I know I wasn't and it was real..very surreal to get an earthquake here, even if it is a teeny weeny one.

Oh well it's time for me to get showered and dressed, and my next lot of meds and cough medicine.

Hugs and love to everyone and welcome back to FPP. Welcome to the newbies :D
