The noise has now seem to have gone. I'm saving up for something else now and would prefer to hold out this brake service for a little while longer. Will it damage my car if it leave it for another couple of months? The grinding isn't loud at all and only ever present if I brake harshly and even then only sometimes0

Good to hear that the noises in your head have stopped, for now, OP. You do realise that when your GP told you that talk therapy would be helpful for DID, they didn't mean trolling forums with multiple names?0
