Incorrect also .... More reading for you re disclosure . Motoring offences are not Crimes , they are breaches of laws but Not Crimes (Well some are - Drink Driving)
All motoring offences are crimes, except for those which have been "de-criminalised" (there's a clue in the name) such as some parking violations.
If you are charged with speeding you will be dealt with by the criminal justice system, go to a criminal court, and wait for your case alongside the (alleged) thieves and drug-dealers.
The confusion arises because not all crimes are "recordable", so for the crime of exceeding the 30mph limit you will not get a criminal record.0 -
Please, do show me where you have to disclose something that will undermine your case pre interview.
Disclosure is not just for matter that undermines the offence . How many interviews are done where there isn't disclosure beforehand nowadays . An unrepresented defendant may not know , but every defendant with a solicitor representing them will have had disclosure from the interviewing officer before the interview .0 -

So are you saying all breaches of law are Crimes then ? There is a reason why alot are not recordable . My definition of a crime may be flawed from normal folks view i suppose .... But we digress a little . My view is that a speeding offence is dealt with by a Magistrate court , but i would rarely be charged with it , i would 99.9% of the time received a summons . Magistrates courts deal with all breaches of law apart from the very few that a county court do . I would not say that all the cases they deal with are crimes , like licensing offences , fly tipping etc . But what you call breaches of the law is not really worth arguing about is it ? My long held view is that motoring offences like speeding are not crimes , probably because they are dealt with separately within the CJS .0 -

Speeding like assault is a crime and are both commonly dealt with by way of summons/postal charge these days.
Did you say what your experience is? It appears limited.0 -

Read #206 and then tell me something I don't know.0 -
Know or found on the internet ? Are you a Law student ?0
-
Thanks - I was going to say . I will refrain from saying to stop you continuing in the same vane .0

I suggest that you may be a law student , did you see that ? No person dealing with "Crime" for a living would argue so much about what a Crime was , for what purpose ? Defence solicitor in the making !0
