With a theft, murder etc, a crime has been committed. It's a matter of find who committed it and making the suspect face the allegations.
Notwithstanding this definition, speeding and all other motoring offences are still criminal offences.
Loving your logic, no conviction for motoring = no crime has occurred.
Never find the suspect for theft or murder = no crime has occurred. ( if the police can't find a burglary suspect does that mean the insurance don't have to pay as there's no crime confirmed?)0 -

I think you are refering to "clear up rates" and "unsolved crimes".
They love motoring offences, which are absolute and really make for good "clear up rates", whereas unsolved burglaries don't (which is why they try to get suspects to stick their hand up for 500 burglaries when they get caught, as they can then all be put down as "case solved/closed".I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

No, as soon as alegation is made with supporting evidence the crime is confirmed until circumstances dictate otherwise.
I doubt merc, rover and the other one are aware of recording and counting rules.0 -

Motoring offences aren't included in clear up rates
HO Counting rules ? What like one victim one crime ? or victim reports three previous crimes on one day all same victim/offender (happened on different days over the last week) recorded as one crime ?0 -
What like one victim one crime ?
My street made the top 10 worst gun crime places in the UK a few years ago.
A kid at the secondary school up the road brought a can of CS gas back from a trip to France and let it off in class.
The Police were called somehow, and every one of the 28 or so people with watery eyes was put down as a seperate firearms incident. One action, 28 victims, 28 incidents and we toppped the league. :cool:I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
