What's the longest you've gone without your mobile phone?

Really, really wish I didn't have the attachment that I do to my phone. I sleep with next to the bed, its always in my pocket and I look at it constantly. I wish I didn't, but it's like a compulsion! I'm pretty good about not checking it constantly in certain company - but with some people, they are just as bad as me!
I suffer with some social anxiety and I find I need it if I am alone - e.g., in a pub and all my friends go out to smoke and I keep the table - I need to 'do' something.
I'd love to delete the social media from it and use it like intended. One day, maybe.0 -
Last gap I had was when I left my mobile a cafe in London, I reported it at 9am and had a shiny replacement by 2pm.0

Nobody needs to panic if they haven't got a mobile phone, because in an emergency they'll discover they're surrounded by dozens of people who do have one and are happy to let someone make an emergency call on it.
NB an emergency is not phoning to ask if a large or small loaf is required..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
I don't panic. But I hate not having it. I use mine to read on, to keep up with friends, to socialise, to book tickets, to check maps etc etc. Can't actually remember the last time I made a phone call on it. I have never understood why low mobile phone usage should be something to feel proud of0

I don't have a posh phone - just a PAYG job. I normally just keep it in the car in case of emergencies. £10.00 of credit lasts me a very long time!
If I'm expecting calls then I keep the phone with me, otherwise it's usually switched off in the car or switched off in my bag.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I wish I wasn't as attached to my phone as I am, but I hate being without it! I use it for everything, calls being one of the last things I actually do use it for!
At least I have an excuse now that I have a young son at home/nursery when I'm at work so need it with me in case of an emergency... and for receiving cute photos of him to cheer my day up!
I don't really get people who steadfastly refuse to have a mobile (like others have pointed out, it's so easy to change plans when things have gone awry rather than leaving someone waiting for ages etc), nor do I get people who have one but only turn it on when they want to use it; kind of defeats the object since it's also for people to get in touch with you! I used to work with a lady who'd turn her phone on once a week then see a load of out of date texts come through from friends and would have to call them all back to apologise for missing their messages - all she had to do was keep her blinking phone switched on and everyone would have been happy!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I have a PAYG phone that I carry with me, switched on, when I'm out and about, going somewhere in the car etc. I often leave it in my work bag on a Friday night until Sunday if I've no plans. I have a landline, people can ring me on that. When I go on holiday the phone comes with me but stays switched off in my room and I switch it on every couple of days or so in case there are any messages.
I would say I put £20-£30 per year into it, if that. It's there if I need it but I genuinely don't like having conversations on a mobile, it hurts my ears!
I recently bought a tablet but that doesn't come out and about with me, well handy for holidays though! I really don't see the need for a contract on a phone when internet access is free (if you have wifi) on a tablet and let's face it, that's what most people use it for.
I hate it when I'm with friends and they are constantly on their phones. I don't mind the odd photo pass around or taking pics but I sat there in silence one time while the two friends I was with were checking their dating sites... !!!!!!?????0 -

Surely you'd be better off with a small tablet? That's the only issue I have when friends think I'm weird, it's the 'phone' bit that I don't really need and that's what you pay for!
I just got a kindle fire and it cost me £89. Don't even need to insure that!0
