What's the longest you've gone without your mobile phone?

I think this poll would have been better without the little 'quips' after the choices.
My choice would be 'several days,' followed by 'I am cool, it's fine...' I have gone from Sunday to Tuesday or Wednesday without looking at it. But I would not say 'several days - ouch' - as it didn't bother me...
So I think the choices are worded badly.
I imagine that most people probably ignored the second part of each choice. I know I did.0 -
Mobile phone insurance is a joke. I lost my phone and to get a payout took 3 months. I had to get a crime reference number before they would consider a claim. The police did give me a number but i gave up waiting for the payout and bought another phone.
I have friends whose claims were dragged out for months messing about with technicalities and requesting various info from their network providers etc. I wouldn't go with any of the companies they have used. My bank replaced my partner's phone within a few days.0 -
My phone is with me on a permanent basis. I don't like the silly quipps either IT makes it sound as though if you have a phone all the time there's s problem. It's a normal fixture to me like a watch may be to someone.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

Assuming I remember it, I always take my phone out with me, in case of emergencies.
At home, it's not on my person so I often miss calls/texts.
It's off for all holidays, so 2 weeks in Summer etc.
It's usually with me, but on silent and not on the table when we're out to dinner.
We went out for Indian last weekend and the chap on the table next to us was texting constantly throughout his meal. He checked his phone after every mouthful; I had to hold back my laughter. He was with a lady (both mid-late 30's) who I think was his girlfriend going by body language. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I thought he must have a close relative or friend in hospital or something, so was getting regular updates. But chances are this wasn't the case. Is this really an acceptable way to behave now?0 -
I don't understand the question - in that if anyone asks for my 'phone no - I'd give them the landline - why force them to pay a higher rate. If I go out, I take the mobile with me, if I need to make a call, I put it on - simple.
Depending on their plan, it may not be a higher rate. Our mobile doesn't work at home, and I know that some people who ring us have to pay a higher rate to ring our landline.0 -
Not everybody is on a "plan".0

Probably the longest is about five hours when I had an operation three years ago. I need it with me constantly even if I'm at home as I have a tendency to fall over and also I have panic attacks which can cause seizures. I spend a lot of time in bed due to my disability so as well as a communication device to the outside world I read books on it, watch TV and films and play games as well as spend time on social media. It's an absolute godsend to me- I couldn't have a basic PAYG as without my iPhone I would be even more isolated than I already am.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

I dont own a mobile phone everyone else I know does I dont know why I just dont, however I quite like not having a mobile, when I go out I like to talk to people it makes me feel quite sad that sometimes you can see groups of families or friends all with their heads stuck into a phone, however saying that its driving my friends and family mad because they cant contact me all the time. I guess I will have to get one fit in with everyone else.0

I used to quite like not having one. I caved in and got one when phone-boxes started getting fewer and fewer, and the few that remained were either not working or in a disgusting state.
I kind of prefer texts to phone-calls, so it's handy in that regard, too.0 -

Count me in as driven mad by friends who don't have mobiles. I don't want to contact anyone all the time but it's such a pain when you can't change plans because one person won't get the message ('The Goat and Boots is packed, we're in the Golden Calf across the road'). I was on a train that was an hour late last week but I was able to save my friend a boring wait. If I hadn't been able to contact him, he would have been inconvenienced and I'd had been worried in case he would just give up on me :rotfl:0
