  • i am using a ppi reclaim firm and have been offered a good will gesture amount in relation to my claim. The company said i am due more and said i should think about taking my claim to the FOS. but she said there was the small risk of not getting anything back at all. i prosume this is to cover there backs if nothing does come back to me. My question is how likely am i of getting nothing if i do take this further??? any help would be appreciated unsure77.

far too many variables involved which could change the answer to this.

Without knowing what you are basing your claim on, what they are offering and how they are justifying this offer. Also, you need to be aware on how the reclaim company are paid.

Today we have received a letter from the Yorkshire confirming that they will be repaying in full + 8% the PPI that was mis-sold to my husband. We had to go through the full process and complain to the Financial Ombudsman but it was worth the wait for a payment of £3,650
  • Bank: HSBC
Loan: Graduate Personal Loan, (restructured a few times buy the bank over the past 6 years)

After i finished University in 2001 had a mountin of debt to get sorted, so the bank was obviously my first port of call, they set me up a loan to be paid over 5 years at £100per month to cover the ammount which was great, few years later i was struggling a bit financialy still and was offered buy the bank a loan with lower interest rate to cover the current loan and also combine any other out goings such as credit cards, which at the time seamed a very atractive offer however ment i had more to pay and a bit longer to pay it. year passed and again bank offerd the same again and as before sounded a good idea but it did add another year to the already stretched existing loan now looking to end in 2010 and having to pay £340per month with £55 of that PPI which i was told was nessasery at the time.

since finding out that i could claim some of this PPI back i downloaded the form on the site here and sent my 1st Letter off 7 weeks ago had a letter back from the bank 2 weeks ago informing me that they were still looking into my claim. got in from work yesterday to find a chuncky letter from the bank, informing me that they were very sorry that i felt it nessasery to complain and they have offered me £3428.90 + £1094.97 interest totaling £4523.87 :j which is fantastic as it will cut what i have left to pay back in half :D so going to the bank this weekend to get it all sorted, i finaly feel light at the end of a once dauntingly long tunnel and i can finally begin my life without a mountin of debt hanging over me even though it is a good few years after University.

After nearly 10 months I finally received notification that EGG will be refunding my PPI including 8% interest. I had loan of £15k and wasn't given the option of not taking the PPI. EGG have been nothing but rude and unhelpful so I took my claim to the FOS and they upheld my complaint. I was going to give up many times but glad I didn't. The FOS are obviously very busy so everyone be patient and stick to your guns.

Well done! I'm just sending my letter off, did you use the bog standard template?? I'm pretty sure I didn't ask for PPI either - but as you can imagine I cannot recall the application clearly! Should I just say I didn't ask for it and see what they say??

    Thanks
