    SUCCESS!!

A big thank you to all of you especially Di for the assistance in sorting my PPI claim!

I have now recieved a total of just under £5600 from Barclays for Two loans which have been previously been closed down. This was a lot more than I expected (was expecting around £2,000 - £2,500 max)!

This has allowed me to pay my new loan of just over £2k off and I am now DEBT FREE!!

The first time since I turned 18!! Plus I still have a very nice sum of money in the bank which I did not expect to have!

In september due to my prior redundancy I decided to go back to further education (Uni) so now having no monthly loan payments is a massive benefit to me and one less thing to worry about in life!

    A big thankyou once again!

  • Hello all,

HFC refused flat to admit misselling PPI on a flexible loan.

The PPI was not front loaded it was a monthly % of the balance. OH was made to feel like he had to have it and they marked it with an X on the paper work

So I sent the complaint to FOS and 12 months later with the ombudsmans input HFC have offered to put the account back as if the PPI had not been taken out.:j I think they also have to add 8%

So this will reduce the outstanding debt :T

I will post the actual amont when i get the info from HFC

    Hi Di and Amersall,

Thank you very much for our replies. I am still not clear. I am sorry for not understanding this.

I am thinking that Lloyds have to pay me the monthly ppi repayments of £120 that I have paid so far since March 2008. This comes to a total of nearly £2700 plus 8% interest.

They are telling me that they will give rebate of £4500 to my loan account and my monthly repayments will remain the same. I don't understand where this £4500 amount came from. That means they are not giving me the ppi I paid so far and are only giving the rebate of the existing ppi on the loan.
Please explain me in detail. I am still confused.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Regards,
    Mat.

Mat I think what they are saying is that they will refund the PPI paid to date which you state is £2700 plus 8% interest. Then they will knock the PPI what you would have paid on the remaining loan which is the £4500 figure of the amount of loan you have left to pay. By keeping the same monthly payment you should pay the loan of sooner. Hope this makes sense.

Lloyds seem to treat each case different. Me and my brother have both tryed claiming. I was really lucky and got accepted on the first letter and paid all back into my account. My brother was rejected and is now going through the next stage and complained to FOS

    Hey all,

Wondered if someone could offer some perspective on my complaint...

Wrote to Lloyds about the misselling of PPI and they have finally replied, offering me £785.97, which is backdated to the time of my original complaint made 16th November. I am uncertain whether to accept or take it to the FOS and try to get it from the original date of obtaining the loan (was October 2007). What's been people's experience of this?

Thanks for yr continued help and support!
