i know what you mean, the stress people have with some figures from companies is unbelievable, just look at picture!! i would have been up to deloittes with a shot gun by now if that had been me! i dont like people being ripped off either and the only way people can understand is by keep asking questions. i am just glad all of you are here to give a helping hand, i take my hat off to all of you

After several letters to MBNA we had a very firm 'No' and a statement that we could also forget going to the ombudsman as it was outside his jurisdiction (my interpretation of their words). Anyway a couple of months later having almost given up on the idea of reclaiming my husband decided to give it one last go and lo and behold a couple of weeks later we received a VERY apologetic letter and a cheque for £3450 as a refund of all premiums and interest and also including an ex gratia payment of £150 for giving us incorrect advice about the ombudsman! Needless to say the cheque was banked that afternoon!!
We have now re-written to Egg and (surprise, surpirse) they have said 'no' again so our next step is to the ombudsman.
It really is worth trying - and don't give up, we nearly did and would have been £3450 worse off as a result.
Good luck with all your claims and I'll let you know how we do with Egg!

Barclaycard PPI Success
Have been successful on a few of my own accounts and now doing the Wifes. She had a Barclaycard whilst being a student (clearly unsuitable) and they applied their payment protector to it.
I sent off various letters and calculated from the statements that we recd that the premiums she has paid total £350 in premiums. I calculated a standard 8 % interest giving a total of £378 that we expecting.
Today however we receive a letter from Barclaycard offering £1204.60 as settlement and to sign enclosed if we accept.
ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR yeah, right on it.
Was no where near expecting this figure returned. Just goes to show, with PPI, DO NOT ever return back your list of PPI charges that you have believe has been charged as the way they have calculated ours is not simply adding 8% interest, bit more advanced and if these are returns you get Im going for compounded interest forevermore.
Good luck.If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0 -

Hello All,
just a quick update & to help anyone else out, i wrote to paragon about a loan we took out & paid off after 1 year in 2003, they wrote back today saying they are not the company that sold us the PPI, it was loans.co.uk, i have seen a few posts already on here about similar responses from paragon, i tried several numbers to contact them & all the lines do not work, so i rang the FOS & they have all the details for loans.co.uk & are sending the letter on my behalf, they said loans.co.uk then have 8 weeks from today to respond to me, in the meantime they will be sending me a questionare so if i am not successful i need to send it back to them & then they will take on my case, so if there is anyone trying to find loans.co.uk regarding thier policy & have no joy, the best thing to do is ring FOS, i will keep you posted on what happens.:rolleyes:Dont get Ripped off by banks, stash your money under the floor boards0 -

Hi there
I have successfully re-claimed back almost £5,000 from Egg in unfair PPI charges. I wrote to them using the template as I felt I was completely mis-sold the PPI - basically told no PPI, no loan. I am pleased to have received this back, I felt back then I was mis-sold, but I needed the loan and had no other options.
If you feel you have been mis-sold, then please make a claim - you never know your luck!0
