my brother bought a car in 2007 from carcraft on HP the agreement and was he had to have the ppi with the car.
he had a phone call last week saying he just had to pay £300 back he still owed £5000 but does not have to pay any more money because of the miss-selling of ppi

Wow, did he not have to do anything about this to start, or just received the call ?

Well done anyway, Congratulations to your brother.

Been claiming against against Barclays for miselling of PPI .Got nowhere fast so took it to FO.
Got a response fairly quickly from FO .An adjudicator found in my favour and sent me a copy of a brilliant letter he had sent to Barclays. They had until 21/04/09 to respond.I was originally claiming on the grounds of a pre existing med con but the FO adjudicator also came up with the response that my job covered me for 6 months full pay if i was sick-hadnt even thought of that!
I was very optimistic about this until got a message today to say that Barclays had completely disagreed with the FO recommendations and it now has to go the FO itself.Anyone been in this situation and won?
Please say yes someone.Barclays seem to the worst of a bad bunch
    Thanks Guys

    Hi there

And yes loads and loads have been in this situation where mainly the ombudsman himself gives the same views, I have not yet come across any that differ between the adjudicator and the ombudsman, I expect this have probably happened but with a strong case it still looks hopeful.

I have posted earlier about my hubbys, okay its Credit Card PPI, in regards of lloyds, have not responded to adjudicator and this is the reason why its moved onto the ombudsman.

However, one of my cases back in 2007 was rather complexed and went as far as the ombudsman in the final stage and was resolved.

    Good luck with yours.;)

Good news!! 2 weeks ago i sent a letter to Halifax asking for my ppi back on my loan. and today i got a letter saynig they are going to pay up!!!:rotfl:they havnt said how much yet however!! also at the same time i asked them to review my bank charges claim due to hardship. so i am wondering A) are they likely to offer me a realy small amount
    B) are they going to say that because they have paid me this money back then i am not in hardship any more.

what experience have other people had??

I am not sure on the bank charges to be honest, good luck though, and maybe a post in that part of the forum, other posters will be able to give some info on this part.

    Again well done.
