    Hello,

A quick update... I received the letter from HSBC saying they would return the full PPI plus 8% interest (total of £740 on £4k loan). I popped the acceptance letter in the post and it took HSBC 2.5 business days to get the money into my account.

Congratulations to all the recent winners!
Those still waiting...be patient guys...it will come!
Those considering putting in a claim - do it, it is only one letter!

    Many thanks, archy ;)

    Hi archy

    Well done to you.:beer::T:beer:

So was this an offer of goodwill, or that the true amount of the PPI you paid?

    Hi Di,

Hope you are well. Yes, £740 is the full amount and this includes the 8%. The total PPI at the start of the £4k loan was £530. I would not have accepted a goodwill gesture (as you and many other wise people on here have advised!).

Great news, well done. :TThat's virtually the basis for my claims as well (although not with Egg), so good to hear it worked for you.:j Enjoy spending your money. :D
Hi, Beatlefan, I was successful too with Egg and they refunded about the same amount and reduction of monthly payments by about £100. Well done to you and it gives others hope. :p:money:

    Hi

Things are good. The sun is shining outside so can't complain at all ;) It's good to see successes posted every day and to know that there are success letters waiting on peoples doormats at home.

Hi All you lucky people, i seem to be having no luck. Just had a reply from mbna to advise that they will notpay up. Reasons being that ppi updated versions of terms and conditions were sent in 04 and 07, also that the premiums have been clearly marked on my monthly statements. I also contacted them on the 10th of feb to cancel my ppi, however during the call they offered to reduce the intrest rate on my account and offer the upgrade ppi at the same cost and advise that I had 30 days to cancel, so I stupidly agree, due to the fact of the lower intrest as i dont think this would have been offered otherwise and i had all intention in cancelling the ppi before the 30 days. They have advised this is the final response and if still not satisfied I have to contact fos. What should I do will I contact the fos or write another letter to them or let it lie. Help.

    Hi there

    Sorry to hear this.
They have made it clear this is the final response, and think its best now to move this on to the FOS.

You can download a form from the FOS site or contact them to arrange to send the form through the post, remember to enclose copies of correspondence with the form.

The FOS will look at both sides, any further information to add with the form will help, good luck.;)
