PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

The story so far,I rang the 0800 No above too cancel the PPI and as suspected I was put through to their "dirty tricks"department.
After some more high pressure selling techniques from the woman at the other end explaining to me that if I didn't have this insurance I would be battered with fire and brimstone or words to that effect,I held fast and got it taken off.
Now here comes the good bit.
I thought it would be just a case of the payment for the premium being removed and just carrying on as before BUT oh no.
She said that it wasn't as simple as that and said I'd have set up a new loan agreement with out PPI added which we did on the phone but I haven't signed any papers yet until I get some advise from here.
A settlement figure was worked out obviously adding any outstanding interest.
The new monthly repayment figure is £33.35 more than it was if I were to stay with the original agreement(which they say I can't do).
The original agreement was £274.77+£120.77 for the PPI premium and the new figure is(if I wish to take it)£308.12 without the PPI agreement!
I have a strong hunch that their trying to rip me off again and I think this is wrong.
I haven't got a problem with paying them what I owe them BUT they shafted me into the PPI in the first instance and I can't see why I shouldn't be paying them the original amount minus the PPI premium.
Please advise.
She advised me that what Lloyds TSB are doing is wrong and this will be a way of clawing back the PPI refund which at sometime they'll have to give me.
She said that I should not sign the new paperwork and write a letter demanding that I should be on the same payment structure as before without the PPI added and also to send a copy of both loan agreements to the FSA.Never skimp on Shoes,Tea bags and fishing tackle!0 -
Has anyone had a successful claim against Lloyds Loans PPI?
The FO have upheld my claim and say it could take upto 12 weeks for Lloyds to repay me, but I'm really skint at the mo and could do with a quicker payment. So I was just wondering how long they've actually taken to pay out in the past and also do they send you a cheque or pay it straight into your bank.
According to Turboman, I'm entitled to £8390, so I'm on tenterhooks and for once actually looking forward to the post dropping through the letterbox.0 -

Hi there
Yes there have been success within Lloyds loans ppi, in fact I am just about to get going on mine now, both myself and hubby have just been successful through the FOS in regards of the credit card ppi.
All looking good for you then hun, good one :T  .
Now if your struggling right now let the FOS know, they "may" see if they can push this on a little quicker for you if you explain to them your current situation.;) Good luck and hope you receive that money soon.

Firstly let me say martin lewis and your team thank you so much, this really does work to anyone out there who was a little sceptical like i was.
i had a loan with ppi from alliance and leicester, i sent the first template letter to alliance and leicester as the reclaiming ppi advice column said and within 2 weeks recieved a letter saying they were reviewing my case.
another week later i recieved an other letter saying they had no way of proving that they missold me the policy but offered me the full sum in refund and 8% interest as my template letter had demanded.
i signed my acceptance form and posted it and recieved a cheque for £2183.47p
the two main reasons i write this post is:
1, to incourage anyone who like me was a little sceptical about all the time and effort needed in fighting a case like this, to do just that because what i have seen martin and his team have this template's written just word perfect because lets face it which bank is going to just hand over money unless they know they were wrong!!
and 2, a big thank you to mr martin lewis himself and his team who work with him on this, i really could not have done this on my own and i am truly glad i did it now, and martin if i meet you out and about i will buy you a drink:beer: gladly, you are a true peoples champion, and i hope you are satisfied by the work you do, as you really should be, you should be on the queens honours list for your hard work and dedication to your average joe bloggs on the street, and all this free of charge what a gentleman!!!
thanks once again

This is unbelievable--as is the amount of the existing PPI premium compared with the Cash Loan.
Post up as below and we'll analyse the figures:
1)-Date of agreement and Number of Months of Loan
2)-Date of first payment
3)-Amount of Cash Advance Loan / Monthly Pymt at outset / % at outset
4)-Amount of PPI Loan / Monthly Payment at outset/ % if different to above
5)-Total Loan Amount (not incl interest)/ Total Mthly Pymnt (as a crosscheck of above 2 to be sure) at outset
6)-Number of payments made so far
7)-Present Monthly Total Payment + %
8)-Exact figures & wording from your received refund letter (or telephone conversations) and dates thereof with refund amounts,8% amounts, & new arrangements etc
9)-any history you have of Interest Rate Changes in form of a list---
Date of Change/new amount/new %
