What were you reclaiming: PPI
Who was the provider: Barclaycard
How much did you get back: £19,220.74
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale
YES YES YES £19,220.74!!!!!!!!!! I still cant quite believe it. Have had a Barclaycard since around 1990, they calculated the sum based on the last 5 years or so. One letter, couple of minutes of my time. I am stunned!!!! And very very happy!!!
Wow WOW well done on your win great news:D0 -

Unfortunately after 3 years of trying to claim PPI back from Nationwide, my husband today has received a letter from the Ombudsman to say they cannot uphold his complaint
This is because DH is saying they told him he had to take PPI and Nationwide are saying he chose to have it. DH says he was very upset at being told he had to take it at the time and felt cheated. The Ombudsman says there's no proof either way and no recordings available of the phone conversation.
DH is most upset. He said it honestly wasn't about the money so much as the cheek of Nationwide and he feels sad that a big company like that have got one up on one of us.
Very sad. I do also wonder if it might have been a different story if we'd put in a claim now instead of 3 years ago, as I know a lot of banks are paying out more these days.
Very frustrating.
I know it's not nice reading about a failure, but perhaps it'll give some of you a more realistic idea of what can happen at the final hurdle, plus I have posted in this thread quite a bit in the past and always said I'd inform of the outcome.
Thank you to all for the advice and support over the past 3 years.Thrilled to be DEBT-FREE as of 26.03.10
Hubby DEBT-FREE as of 27.03.15

Hi, I have had 3 claims against Lloyds upheld in August and I am still waiting for my cheques to arrive .
I think it is awful the way Lloyds can take so long in giving back our money!!.
I was wondering if anyone else have received their cheques from Lloyds??.
I have now emailed the CEO of Lloyds stating how unhappy I am with their terrible service. I wonder why I left Lloyds??.
But thank you so much to everyone on here and Martin for the great advice and I can't wait to have my money!!. :j0 -

I am in the same position MAZ, no cheque received from Lloyds, even though they promised to send ASAP and stated that there was no requirement to return acceptance form. Only reply if not being accepted. Shocking !!!!:mad:0 -
I don't know how they are getting away with it. I have heard absolutely nothing from them!. I think we should all complain about them as other banks seem to be paying out rather quickly!!. Yes it is very shocking!!0

RBS agreed that they had missold my PPI and that they would give me a full refund. I had to sign and return an acceptance form before they would confirm the amount. They received this on the 7th September and I've not not heard anything back.
Apparently I then need to accept the amount they offer before they send the cheque so who knows when I'm actually going to get the money back that they STOLE from me...
How comes they get 16 weeks to respond saying they will return the money yet there is no time limit on when they need to return our money??? My original claim letter was sent in June and I'm still waiting :mad:0 -
