PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

hi. I emailed hsbc to chase an ongoing claim for ppi refund. they got back to me and said they sent a refund offer of £9960 on 3rd sept. I did not get this offer. I have responded by asking where it was sent and to resend to my current address.
my question is how do they pay out? the ppi claim was on a loan that they closed when I demanded they remove ppi, they replaced it with a new loan, with no ppi.
due to my husband leaving me and our toddler, times are hard right now and I have missed 3 payments on the current loan and I am going thru payplan under debt management.
current hsbc loan is about £7k left.
will they pay me direct or just clear the existing loan and send me the difference? if they do, it's going to cost me, cos stupidly used Belmont Thornton and they take 25% plus vat. worried.....
Hi there
Well done on your success!
Hope you receive the letter soon with the details, as they should explain what happens with the refund.
If you cancelled the ppi, and started a new loan, realistically it should come back to you to what I am aware of.
If there are arrears on the current loan, whether or not they will use so much of this towards that one I am not too certain, but otherwise they may treat the open account separately to the closed account, I would check the letter when that arrives, and make sure they send you a copy of this offer if you've not received it soon.
In regards of using a claims company, if you signed anything, its possible they will take their bit out of it, but I have no experience with using a claims company, so hopefully someone who have done may post of their own experience over the weekend, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I have not had any correspondence from them all the business has been done on the phone after I had sent them the paperwork that had all the bits and peices about the loan and it showed the PPI on it. WHat did you submit to them and when did you submit it.
Sent my complant letter and the FOS form as requested on their internet page. Received one letter confirming they had received it and then another beginning of July stating they would follow up my complaint as quickly as possibble etc. Also received a letter end of June stating my complaint would be dealt with no later than 26th of August, waited until then having faith and nothing. Rang them and they said it was a mistake, further follow up letters were meant to be sent informing me of our progress but nothing and phone calls are completely unhelpful.0 -

Re wrote to them stating further reasons why I feel we were mis sold. And that I feel they should look into it further.
Also E-mailed Bob Diamond at Barclays.

I emailed the CEO of Barclays and yesterday received a call about the missing cheque. They said they had put a stop on it and were sending a new one yesterday, which should be with my today or Monday.
This morning received a cheque for £7322.46 - absolutely brilliant. The postmark on the enveloppe is yesterday, but the cheque and letter are both dated 9th September so I am not sure if this is the new cheque or the stopped one. Should I just pay it into the bank and wait and see?
Congratulations to all the winners. Long may it continue.0
