I heard my loan was upheld on Friday when I phoned them, but don't have figures yet. I think you'll be ok as the guy told me that ALL MBNA loan claims are going to be upheld, but credit cards are different due to the various sales methods they had for cards.

i tell you what this is trully GOOD NEWS - MBNA upholding all loan claims, Barclays doing their no quibble thing.

All im saying hope they sort mine out before the POT OF CASH finishes :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

CONGRATS on all wins so far guys :j:j:j

Thanks di3004 for the info as well

like origional post ... i took out my barclaycard credit card around the same time 16-17 yrs ago ..but cancelled it when i went back to college as a mature student as i knew i wouldnt be able to claim anyway about 9 yrs ago
was also told on a another forum to request a full SAR ...i had looked everywhere for my PPI insurance cerificate which i know i had ..as you say it was automatically added as in they days it was something you thought you had to have and just probably listened listened to salesman who sold it without looking carefully over the t&c's which in reality would have excluded me on a few of the clauses in small print

better give it another go ..but Barclaycard rejecting your claim just trying to get out of paying rather
    ..

    Hi there

And with it being 17 years ago its likely it was added anyway.

Have you also requested a SAR (Subject Access Request), I note you said about a possible cancellation 6 years ago, if this was the case as they must hold data for at least the last 6 years then it should be all disclosed within the paperwork from the SAR. This will hopefully prove your point of having PPI on the account.

If you have not requested a SAR, you can optionally do so by requesting for this by using the full template letter below, enclose £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
Sometimes they still hold data going back even earlier.

It's up to you of course if you want to do this though but just another suggestion.
    Hope this helps.;)

They cannot quote EX VAT prices to consumers

If in the documentation it states 25% with no mention of VAT then you are allowed to assume its 25% INC. VAT and that's all they can charge

Make sure you go through the documentation though, I'd be very surprised if its not in there somewhere?

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
